So i had a dream yesterday where i was stuck in a library as the librarian keeper and the guardian of the library was an oversized Kiwi bird?....? (weird dream i know. This quarantine is destroying my mind...)
After i woke up i kept thinking about the dream and had an idea for having an otherwordly patron that is a sentient library or maybe one belongs to a Great old one/wizard/devil/archfey etc... and you as a warlock bind yourself to it to gain access to it's knowledge and powers.
The ability i thought of so far that you might gain access to the library for 1 hour and during this time you are blinded and defend and in the you can attempt to find a a certain knowledge or get the ability to cast 1 (increases at certain levels) warlock spell that is not prepared which can only be casted once before that knowledge is taken from you. maybe later on additional spell slots at a cost or something?
Sorry i am not good at designing sub classes and i wanted to share this and see your opinions on it.

This is actually cool, let me suggest a bit:
Thoth, the Egyptian god of knowledge, writing and magic could be the librarian or perhaps one of their intermediaries is your patron. Thoth's most commonly associated animal is the Ibis - the bird of your dream, as it were?
Once per long rest, you can access their library and use a spell you don't normally have access to. It takes an action, and you disappear into the library realm, to return to the precise point you came from, with 10 minutes per level of spell requested. Later on, perhaps, you get the ability to take a turn in combat sand come back with instant knowledge.
Instead of blind or deafened, how about your ability to find what you need is a Charisma check and based on your service and relationship to your patron, along with its abilities to grant the spell (or closest approximate) to it? Fail and you get nothing and can't invoke the power until after you finish a long rest. Succeed and you get a spell that you need, assuming you have the appropriate level to cast it. You can't store more than one, or you lose the one you have if you invoke the power again.
I like the concept, I hope your DM lets you flesh it out.

May the gentle moonlinght guide you to greater wisdom
well i suggest a bit of an ribbon feature here: this subclass should be allowed to use intelegence or charisma as their spellcasting abillity, since it is all about knowledge and an early playtest version of the 5e warlock actiually used intelegence as their casting stat, it is something that was thrown out that i think would be very cool, could be added alongside other more important features.
other than that i say lean heavily into the spellcasting aspect of the warlock, and perhaps let the warlock get an very limited version of spell preparation where whenever they finish a long rest they get to choose a single spell from the wizard spell list, and until the end of the next long rest they know the spell and the spell is treated as an warlock spell for them, basically they tap into some of the knowledge of this infinite library, or have a feature that incorporates the mystic arcanum feature somehow at 14th level
otherwise an feature that lets an warlock change proficiencies or gain expertise / advantage on certain intelegence checks might be cool and fitting for the subclass

i am soup, with too many ideas (all of them very spicy) who has made sufficient homebrew material and character to last an thousand human lifetimes
Level one ability I would say is that they can use a reaction and treat a roll of 9 or lower on a d20 for any intelligence based check, as a 10. They can do this a number of times equal to their charisma modifier.
LEvel Six, at the end of any long rest, they may entirely change the spells which they "know" provided that the spells are all from the warlock spell list and of their spell slot level or lower. In addition, they can search the library for 1 minute for the spell they need, vanishing from our plane during this time, to reappear with a single spell form any spell list that is of their spell slot level or lower. The spell counts as a warlock spell for them, and charisma is their casting modifier for it. They regain the ability to do this after a long rest.
Level 10: you may choose to ADD your charisma modifier to all intelligence checks and saves. You can also use any spell scroll, no matter what list the spell is from, provided it is of your spell slot level or lower.
Level 14: You can Document a creature, that is to say any incapacitated creature, you can transform them permanently into a book as an action. this book gives you access to all information the creature knew, including spell scrolls for any spells it might have been able to cast. You regain the ability to use this action after a long rest. If you use this action while you already have a documented creature book, the older book is sent to the Library immediately, and you loose access to it.
Thank you Halavar the weird, ArtificeMeal and Zoken44 for the tips! Me and couple of my friends are currently working on it adding your recommendations to it a well and hopefully we'll get it done soon!
"Reads GhastlyOrphans comment" I thought i had finally made something original but i guess it's not the case here.XD
Thanks for the recommendation!, i will look into it for inspiration.
