In the campain im currently in im playing a life cleric (lvl5), ive decided to get a few lvls of warlock when we get to lvl 6 and forward. My question is how many lvls would you guys recommend i take in the two classes? Im thinking atleast 3 for warlock and going with pakt of the chain.
You should make your decision based on a feature or spell you get at a certain level. Multiclass build round themselves out based around features you get at certain class/subclass levels. I would think about what made you dip into warlock in the first place and only take the amount of levels you need get the features/spells you want. Or maybe you decide you want to continue leveling warlock and dip into cleric when you want features from that class.
Pact of the chain is seen as the weaker of the three but don't let that stifle your imagination. Maybe you want to use your pact of the chain familiar to deliver your heavy hitting touch spell inflict wounds. Look at the cleric and warlock features and see what might pair well with having a familiar.
Three levels gets you some great features, two short rest level two slots, and two invocations, and still lets you get level nine spells with Cleric 17.

I agree with the above, 17 Cleric / 3 Warlock will get you the best of both worlds. You just lose an ASI.
Agreed. 17/3 is the best dip.

Thanks for the advice
