Trying to understand the rules on character building here. I do not think I am required to take Adept of the Red Robes here... but suppose I am. Do I also get to take a normal 4th level feat here at 4th? Or is the initiate path here locking me into that 4th level feat choice for the mage of high sorcery path?
The fourth level feat is a bonus (additional) feat, limited to the listed feats. You do not have to take the follow-up feat to the background feat you got at level 1. I understand it to be 4th *character* level, so even if you multi-class you'd get it when your character level is 4. It's not tied to class progression from my reading of the rules.
You could play a VHuman, get two feats at level 1 and two feats at level 4 by RAW.
Ok I was hoping for this. I like the feats for the flavor of the background but they don't add that fun factor for me and I didn't want to be railroaded into choosing them.
Thank you
