If you are using Hexblade and get the improved pact weapon invocation you don't really need strength as you can get pretty much most weapons and use Charisma for attack / damage. Cha, Con and Dex would be your go to.

He explicitly said he wanted to go with Undead though.
And the rage damage bonus is only for strength-based attacks.
To make it less MAD you can start as a barbarian and get medium armor proficiency. That way you are not reliant one Dex+Con for armor, Half-plate is 15+Dex (up to 2).
You only get rage damage if you use strength to attack with your weapon, and reckless attacks works on the same principle.
Sounds like fun if you can pull it off! Not more MAD than my Undead Bladelock though, so I think you'll be fine. Just focus on CHA and CON with STR as third priority and you'll be more or less fine.
Interesting. Usually I recommend dropping CHA to third priority and mainly picking up spells that don't use your Spellcasting Ability.

These limitations are what really holds the dex barb back too.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
Eldritch Armor is still UA, a lot of games will not allow it.

What are you expecting to get out of warlock? When multiclassing, you should always have goals as to what you want from the second class.

Just picked up the latest UA, and was floored by the Undead Patron - it looks like it's going to be a lot of fun to play.
I'm planning on a Lizardfolk Barbarian - Path of the Beast / Warlock - Undead Patron (a dracolitch) - pact of the blade.
While it's a bit MAD, I think it has tons of potential synergies, not to mention RP for days.
Armor of Agathys, False Life, Form of Dread, Rage, Hungry Jaws... he's going to be an angry mini dracolitch!
Any thoughts...? it's my first 'lock...

Yeah, but this whole character is UA, so that's not an issue...
What UA is that Eldritch Armor invocation from?
UA class feature variants

What do you think of this progression?
etc... further levels in either Barbarian or Warlock depending on how the character is developing
