I have a Warlock up for Feat or ABI. My stats are as follows : Char 17, Cons 15, Dex 15, Int 12, Wis 10, Str 8. I am thinking of ABI +1 to Char and +1 to Cons. This will increase spell modifier, HP modifier, and Const save modifier by one each. Or should I go another route? Maybe a feat instead?
I guess some qualifiers to get a better sense of where you're at overall? Is this the level 4 ASI? What subclass of warlock? Are you going caster route, martial-caster, other? What invocations are you utilizing for your build? Taking the ASI to increasing Char and Con is certainly a good option, but it could also depend on how your lock is built and what your overall play-style is as well as what you are looking to do with your warlock.
Yes, this is for level 4. I am a Fiend Warlock. I am currently primarly spell caster in group and plan to remain that way. My invocations are Agonizing Blast and Book of Ancient Secrets.
A good straightforward style, aye. There are some half-feats you could utilize to get a +1 while picking up some additional perks; but, taking the ASI right now would certainly help out in the long run. If you feel comfortable with your spells and class feats (plus whatever racial feats you have), I'd say go for the ASI for now and then either finish out your Char at level 8, or at that point look at possible Feats to pick up in place of your 8th level ASI.
If you feel you could use some more options or toys to play with, look toward a Feat. There are plenty of half-feats you could utilize to increase either your Char or Con to get that increase to their modifiers (Resilient, Fey Touched, Skill Expert, Tele(Kinetic/Pathic), etc.) and then take the 8th level ASI to push your stats up.
