The draw is heavy and deliberate, forcing the wielder to slow their breath and steady their heart before each shot. Typically requiring more time to find proper posture and be able to utilize the length of these bows.

When you take the Attack action to make an attack with this bow, you can choose to make only one attack, even if you could normally make more. If you do, that attack deals 2d12 damage instead of 1d8. The weapon otherwise functions as a normal longbow.

You can choose to attune to this weapon. While attuned, you gain the following benefit:
The bow deals an additional 2d6 damage of a type of your choice: acid, cold, fire, force, lightning, necrotic, poison, psychic, radiant, or thunder. You choose the damage type when you finish a long rest, and you can change it whenever you finish another long rest.

When you make an attack with this weapon, you can choose to alter the damage type of that attack to be entirely the element you selected when you finished your last long rest. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Proficiency with a Longbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
