Weapon (shortsword), legendary (requires attunement by a follower of the Raven Queen)

Lore - During what has become known as the Purge of the Unfaithful, General Aebos was protecting the town of Dormholt. This was the last stand for the King of Greyholm. The King ordered his army to protect the town, and give him and his family time to escape. As General Aebos prepared his forces, Aebos and his army were betrayed, and banished to the Shadowfell by the King's advisor, the Wizard Saril Munder. General Aebos tried to lead his his army back to the material plane, but was ultimately unsuccessful.

After years of struggling to survive in the Shadowfell, Aebos and the last two survivors of his army, Strom and Brylin, managed to find the Raven Queen. The men plead their case before her; begging for help in their search for revenge against the wizard Munder. The Raven Queen granted General Aebos and his men their request in exchange for their service to protect her followers. The agreed, and their souls were combined with the weapons they carried, a broken short sword, a spear, and a dagger. This short sword was not the weapon General Aebos fought with. General Aebos volunteered to bond with what remained of a long dead soldier that gave his life to protect Aebos. This sword is to remind him of the fragility of life. The Raven Queen kept these weapons at her side and bestowed them on those who would act as her aspects of fate in the material world, the crone (the broken sword), the mother (the spear), and the maiden (the dagger).

Harmonious - Attuning to this item takes only 1 minute if the wielder is a follower of the Raven Queen.

Sentience - The Sword of General Aebos is a sentient neutral weapon with an Intelligence of 15(+2), a Wisdom of 14(+2), and a Charisma of 17(+3), and hearing and normal vision out to 60 feet. It seeks to protect the followers of the Raven Queen and slay the Mage who betrayed him. The weapon communicates, dependent upon it's status, through temperature and visions, or telepathically with its wielder when awakened, and can speak, read, and understand common, elvish, and all languages the attuned wielder knows.

Personality - Having been betrayed by a wizard, Aebos is distrustful of any arcane spell casters not aligned with the Raven Queen. The sword will try to control the wielder when a humanoid wizard is visible, and General Aebos determines is untrustworthy, directing all attacks against them. Wielder needs a Charisma saving throw DC of 15. On a failed save, the wielder is charmed by the item for 6 hours or until the swords target is killed. If the wielder takes damage, it can repeat the saving throw, ending the effect on a success. The item can't use this power again until the next dawn. An awakened sword has a Chraisma of 18(+5) and DC save of 16, and an Exulted sword has a Charisma of 20(+5) and a DC save of 17.

Status Reset - Should another creature other than the wielder pick up the sword, the sword will try to charm the creature at the Exulted level (+5) ignoring and negating any charmed resistance or immunity with the single thought to drop the weapon. Should the sword fail, it will reset to a dormant status. Should the wielder die (fail 3 death saves), the sword will be reset (even if the wielder is restored to life).

Death Ward - Once per day should the wielder of an Awaken or Exulted sword be reduced to 0hp the Sword will restore the wielder to 1hp and try to take control of the wielder to escape  (if exulted with dimension door).

Gathering - Should the other weapons made from the other survivors, The Dagger of Strom or The Spear of Brylin, be within 1000ft of each other they know the direction of where the other is located, and grant the wielders a +1 (or +2) to AC if the 2 (or 3) weapons are wielded within 120ft of each other.

Ritual to Awaken - found in the tome 'The Unspoken Ways of the Shadow Queen'

Complete the ritual at midnight on the night of a new moon. Deep in the forest find the fairy ring of a once great tree, and burn the ground within. Build an altar in that ring made of stone. Upon this altar sacrifice one raven with the sword and collect it's blood into a wooden bowl. Mix the blood of the raven with the ash of the fairy ring, 500gp of ruby dust, and the blood of the wielder. Bathe the sword at midnight with this mixture to awaken the sword. The sword will absorb the blood mixture at it's completion.

Ritual to Exulted -  found in the tome 'Eclipse of Fate'

In the shadow of a full eclipse of the sun at the zenith of the eclipse. 'Build me a ring of stone at the highest peak in the shadow. Wrap your arms in fine white silk and step into the circle. Slice three places on each arm with your awakened sword, and allow the silk to become soaked in your blood. Bind the sword blade in one of these silks, and the grip with the other. Set them on fire. Collect the ash, and place them in a pouch of silk and attach the feather from a Raven's wing. Carry this with you always. Should you lose it, the sword will revert to an awaken status.

Blade Pact for Warlock - (Not everyone will agree with this) -

This weapon was designed to be a blade pact weapon bestowed by the Raven Queen through either through the supernatural pact with the Raven Queen or a Hex-blade pact with the weapon. General Aebos took on the mantel of a servant to the Raven Queen in order to seek his revenge, and will gladly assist and protect the one she or fate chose to enact her will on the material plane.

As a pact weapon this sword will take on the shape of the melee weapon the wielder chooses. However, the sword is proud and demands to be displayed, even in the shape the wielder chooses, and not pocketed in the void. As such, the weapon can travel through the void to return to the wielder, but not be stored there. Should the weapon be separated from the wielder (less than 100ft)  it will remain unless called (greater than 100ft) it will return to the wielders side.
