Weapon (longsword), legendary (requires attunement by a Fire Giant, or one with Fire Giant blood)

This giant-sized longsword is blood-red, with a golden crossguard and a ruby pommel. At the end of the thousand-years-war, it was bathed in the blood of the dragon god Garyx, wielded by the great Lord Thrimir, and as it bathed in the blood it was infused with ancient magic. As payment for his bravery, he was set as the permanent guard of the Forge of Light, a conical city populated by fire giants with an everpresent lavafall down the center. Thrimir is immortal, seven millenia old, and still remembers the ancient times when he lived in the kingdom of Ostoria, and so bears great enmity towards all chromatic dragons.

Zybitr has the following traits:

  • Chromatic dragons and chromatic guard drakes take 1d20 extra true damage when hit by Zybitr.
  • Zybitr is always perfectly balanced for you, and when you let it go it just floats in midair. While it floats, it is immovable by any force less than 600 pounds, unless it is moved by you.
  • Anyone who is not attuned to Zybitr that tries to wield the sword finds themselves unable to lift it (unless you give them permission).
  • You can resize Zybitr at will, down the minimum size of a kobold-sized longsword. There is no maximum size.
  • Zybitr cannot be destroyed. This trait is unaffected by antimagic effects (such as a beholder's eye ray).
  • You can take one action to drain life from a creature with 50 or less remaining hit points. It dies instantly, its body crumbling to dust. You regain the number of hit points you drained. If that creature as the dragon type, regain twice as many hit points as you drained. This ability can move your current hit points above your hit point maximum, but so long as your current hit points are above your hit point maximum, you take 1d4 damage per round until your hit points reduce to your maximum. This ability can be used once a day.
  • You can take one action to cast Burning Hands at level 9, originating from the sword. The fire from this spell is golden, and it billows harmlessly around anyone you do not wish to harm. This does not require any verbal components. You merely point the sword in the direction you wish the fire to go, and the fire blooms out of the sword. The DC save is 20, and the golden fire does not ignite anything flammable in the area of effect.

Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.

Notes: Fire Giant, or one with Fire Giant blood, Versatile, Sap
