Strange that the item art has the Abjuration icon (from the spell schools) and a closed eye - Illusion icon. Seems like it should be the Divination icon instead?
If I am using this item, people can't scry on me, but what if they are trying to scry on a particular item I am wearing? Such as a cloak of protection? How would that work?
Just noticed that the symbols on this amulet are a combination of the symbols of Abjuration and Illusion magic, as seen in the icons for spells of those respective schools. It looks like the eye for Illusion is closed. Pretty neat inclusion
Interesting that this specifies that only Divination spells are negated. So theoretically you could use Drawmji's Instant Summons to locate somebody using one of these.
The end of the description says, unless you allow it. The wording isn't entirely precise on whether "unless you allow it" applies only to the scrying or to both effects.
Personally, I would say that the wearer could choose to allow any divination spell to affect them, so long as they are aware and capable of making the decision.
Unless everybody wears one of these, seeing someone wearing one of these is already a kind of red flag. It gives off the message that they have information they would prefer not to get out, information that is worth using magic to guard. It begs the question, "What are you hiding?"
I'm super late for this but the description reads "While wearing this amulet, you can’t be targeted by Divination spells or perceived through magical scrying sensors unless you allow it." This is one sentence, meaning that you can be targeted by the divination spell if you are willing.

Posted May 2, 2024I would say yes BoC would work, as it is hemocraft magic, not divination magic.

Posted May 2, 2024I would say it does not prevent BoC, as that is hemocraft magic and the bloodhunter can then just know where you are.

Posted May 16, 2025What's the difference between this and a Ring of Mind Shielding?
Reading the description it seems as if the ring is better than the amulet.

Posted Jun 15, 2025The item probably has that as it is using abjuration magic to protect the user from divination spells

Posted Mar 17, 2026The name is a real mouthful, so I prefer to call it a "Amulet of Nondetection".
