Weapon (dagger), unknown rarity (requires attunement by a requires attunement by a creature able to harness lightning)

Description

The gauntlet has been tempered in ice and fire and has one set of 3 claws attached. A small rope links the gauntlet and the set of claws. 

The weapon is considered magical for the purpose of resistance and immunities.

Dormant

  • The link to the claw is made of rope. It has an AC of 10 and 2 HP
  • Bonus Action:
    • The wielder can imbue the gauntlet with lightning energy once per long rest. In this manner, the weapon adds [roll]1d8[/roll] lightning damage to its next attack.
    • The targeted enemy has to roll a DC (spellsaving) CON saving throw or have disadvantage on its next attack
  • Ranged Attack (Range 20/60 feet):
    • The claws can be triggered as a whole to fly from the gauntlet as part of an action.
    • The set of claw does a base damage of [roll]3d4[/roll] + DEX Modifier
  • Melee Attack:
    • With the claws are slotted in, you have a [roll]1d20+1[/roll] bonus to attack and damage rolls

Awakened

  •  The link to the claw is made of steel. It has an AC of 13 and 5 HP
  • Bonus Action:
    • The lightning damage is increased to [roll]2d8[/roll] and can be used twice per long rest. It can be used through the claws or the gauntlet. If used as part of a ranged attack, the lightning damage is spread equally between the targeted foes (rounded down).
    • You can disconnect the chain linking the claws to the gauntlet
  • Ranged Attack (Range 20/60 feet):
    • Each claw does [roll]1d6[/roll] + DEX modifier damage
    • The claws can be triggered as a whole or separately.
    • When used as a whole, you can use all your turns actions and bonus actions to attempt to grapple your foe. A grappled opponent can attempt to break (DC 13 STR check) or cut the link. A grappled creature can be dragged/pulled/tripped through the link.
    • When used as 3 separate claws, you can target a different enemy with each claw as part of your attack action. You cannot grapple enemies in this fashion.
  • Melee Attack:
    • As long as one claw is slotted in, you have a [roll]1d20+2[/roll] bonus to attack and damage rolls

 Exalted

  • The link to the claw is made of an adamantine/mithral allow. It has an AC of 15, 10 HP and a hardness of 5
  • Bonus Action:
    • The lightning damage is increased to [roll]3d8[/roll] and can be used thrice per long rest.
  • Ranged Attack (Range 20/60 feet):
    • Each claw does [roll]1d8[/roll] + DEX modifier damage
    • You can attempt to grapple a creature with every claw.
  • Melee Attack:
    • As long as one claw is slotted in, you have a [roll]1d20+3[/roll] bonus to attack and damage rolls

 

 

Proficiency with a Dagger allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Nick. When you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can make it as part of the Attack action instead of as a Bonus Action. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
