The red blade of this sword was originally crafted from a mundane metal alloy. It has since spilled the blood of many different magical creatures and that blood has soaked into the metal this attracted spirits from the shadowfell which then blessed it with magical properties. You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. While the sword is on your person, you are immune to effects that raise your maximum hit points.

Blessed Circulation. While holding the sword, you can use an action to give yourself 1d4 + 4 temporary hit points. This property can’t be used again until the next full moon.

Burning Blood. When you hit a creature with an attack using this weapon, you may spray forth the blood from the blade: the target takes an additional 1d6 fire damage. If you chose to use this property after hitting a creature you can use a bonus action to coat the blade in your own blood loosing Xd8 maximum hit points (this loss of life can't be healed and will revert after a long rest) and blessing the blade with and additional X/2 d4 fire damage for X rounds. Once you use this property, you can’t do so again until the next dusk.

Proficiency with a Shortsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
