Wondrous Item, very rare (requires attunement by a Kalashtar, or a creature with at least two, but no more than five levels of exhaustion.)

A large and weighted journal. This journal appears to be made of bone and deep mahogany leather hide.  It is closed by two skinny strips of hide wrapped around the outside and tied at the back cover.

From the outside, you can see the book is split into three sections, surrounded by two blackened covers. A light section of parchment paper on top, a rigid and blackened center section, and finally a weathered and tattered section of parchment in the back.

On the front cover is an insignia; a toppled acorn in front of a Triquetra.

This particular journal was crafted using the body parts of one Lyall Nightbrand. The spine of the book is made of the 2nd-7th vertebrae of the spine, the leather covers are made from the cured and stretched hide of Lyall. The pages of the journal are sewn into the cartilage using Lyall's hair. The thin outer layers of Lyalls lungs and kidney make up the document dividers in the interior section.

Due to the naturalistic nature of this book, a 3rd level preservation spell must be cast any time more natural components are added to the book. If the spell is not cast, the entirety of the book will begin to decompose. The time for each book component to completely decompose is listed below. Any time a component spends decomposing is time that cannot be gained back. For example, if the parchment decomposes for 3 days, the overall time to decompose is now (9d10-3 days).

Lung Letter Dividers: 16d6 Hours
Parchment Pages: 9d10 Days
Cured Lycanthrope Leather Hide: 6d6 Weeks
Spine and Structural Cover: 5d10 Years

Notes: Vulnerability: Psychic, Exhaustion, Any non-Kalashtar creature reading this journal becomes vulnerable to psychic attacks and gains an additional level of exhaustion (for a minimum of 3 Levels) while reading the journal. A creature of Kalashtar descent gains none of these effects., Kalashtar, or a creature with at least two, but no more than five levels of exhaustion.
