This bag is an extremely flamboyant violet color, with a golden question mark on one side and feels as if it is made with the finest silk. The bag weighs 5 pounds.
- Looking inside the bag reveals nothing, you only see an empty bag.
- Reaching inside the bag, you also feel nothing, but when you remove your hand from the bag, an object or creature randomly chosen from the table below is in your hand (in the case of a creature, the creature falls to the ground, prone and unaware of its surroundings).
- Placing an object in the bag results in the bag beginning to shake violently and fall to the ground, then spit the object back out.
- If another object (or the same one) is attempted to be placed in the bag a second time within a tenday, the bag shakes even more, hitting anyone within 5 ft of the bag for 1d4 bludgeoning damage, and again the bag spits the object out.
- If another object (or the same one) is placed in the bag a third time within a tenday of the second attempt, the bag devours the object, sending into a void disappearing from existence and the bag cannot again be used for a tenday. Any additional attempts to store an object in the bag results in this again, resetting the countdown back to another tenday before its next use.
Once per day, as an action, someone can reach into the bag and remove something from it (roll 1d100 and use the table below to determine what is removed from the bag). Anything removed from the bag is permanent to the plane, it will not disappear after a time limit -- it is just like any other item or creature on the plane. See the Monsters Listing for the creature's statistics.
A creature removed is prone and immediately hostile (as it is scared and confused), but may potentially be persuaded to be friendly (depending on the creature).

Notes: Summoning, Utility
I put this in my campaign. The monk decided to use it exclusively in battles. He rolled a 52 the first time he used it while on a boat battling pirates...then he and the team had to deal with fighting pirates and the inexplicably irate white dragon wyrmling that he fought while the confused pirates kept asking "Is that thing with us? Do we have a dragon and no one told me?"
Ultimately the monk killed the dragon and used an action during the fight to throw its body off of the side of the boat before the 15yr old cleric kid the party (literally) adopted saw it.
I'm kind of kicking past me for automatically deciding that the dragon was hostile. It would have been an interesting pet for the party.
what the heck is a tenday
My players read about this and used it to DESTROY blackrazor
This is an absolutely wonderful item! I love the flavor and fun that this could bring to a campaign.
I think it's great as-is, but here are some minor corrections if you'd like. If not, please feel free to ignore the inherent rudeness of my gesture.
To begin, I think that either all of the listed items/creatures should have periods at the end or none of them should. As some of them are multiple sentences, using proper punctuation for all of the options would probably be the better stylistic choice. Let's get this thing into an official WotC book!

, anduntil the bag disappears from existence.I guess that’s up to you. Personally I like the idea that the bag was crawling along the ground and went they bent down to pick it up it devoured them and they were sent to some empty (except for the occasional item floating around) plane where basically nothing exists.
Well, if you roll a 100, then the bag disappears, but I do think it should be more likely for the bag to disappear (E.G. 99-100).
I want to recommend this to my DM. It's amazing.
I - when- you- how- what-, this is BEAUTIFUL THANKS FOR THIS!!!
Amazing item, So many choices, 10/10 goes in my campaign.
But.. as you commented yourself.. the only problem with this item is that its very "in our game", and as a DDB homebrew so it's just too "wordy"
If the item is in the players inventory its just ALOT to read and try to understand. I tested it and it was a little overwhelming. IMO it needs to become more general and sort of template-able for the DM to have an easy time without having to make his own private homebrew based on this one and just make his own tables.
TL;DR: Loved it, Gave ideas, Amazing job ♥
So I've been running a campaign for the past 4 years and I introduced this item in the first 3 sessions. The players got hooked with it immediately, judging how the day goes by depending on how good the pull of the day was.
Since its been a mainstay with the party, here's a few things that have happened.
1. It's discovered that this bag is not creating things out of nothing but instead is pulling an existing item from the world and stealing it.
2. This revelation became relevant the second time the rolled 93, and had the same very angry mother dragon return even angrier after seeing the same idiots with their egg again.
2a. They pulled it a third time and had the shells of an egg instead.
3. One of the first pulls of the game was 19, the berseker axe, and almost led to a player death at level 1.
4. Managed to build an entire lore and kingdom which ended up having plot relevance to the Knight (34).
5. The party now has a collection of fancy blue wizard's hats, as they've pulled that nearly 20 times by now.
6. They make bets every day on category of the item. Imagine the surprise when a whole freaking person came out of the bag.
7. Most recently, they came across a mutated fey whose very presence destroyed living things on touch. The only saving grace was that their fey nature was now cartoonishly in effect- which caused them to savagely delight in games. One of the party members gambled safe passage and the fey to be sent back to its domain if they won a guessing game of what was to come out of the bag. The mutated fey guessed "A single item!", and they cursed their way out when several silver coins were forcefully ejected from the bag.
4 years of near weekly usage and we still haven't pulled everything on this list.
All this to say, that my friends and I have gotten an astronomical amount of mileage out of this thing. Thank you for this wonderful item.
Edit, and i can't believe I forgot this: At one point in time, I destroyed the bag. But after that, sessions just felt like something was just missing. So, a few months later, the bag magically returned as a boon from a very questionable deity.
In D&D, they do not have weeks. Instead, ten days is called a tenday
Am I the only one who is enjoying the stories of parties using this in comments section more than the item itself. That's saying alot as this bag is fantastic. I wish the list could be expanded further but sadly d100 is as high as most things go.
love this so random
