For thousands of years, warrior cults battled for supremacy over their homelands. History records one of these warrior cult leaders having mastered a connection to the weave and creating their own weaveblade called the Darksaber. With their powerful weapon and deep connection to controlling the weave, this skilled artificer united the clans of the warrior cults. Whoever posses the Darksaber has the right to return to the land the warrior cults and claim it's throne.
The Darksaber is a martial melee weapon with the Finesse and Light properties and sheds dim light in a 15-foot radius. The weapon is composed of a hilt that, while held in your hand, can emit a blade of pure radiant energy without requiring an action. The blade deals radiant damage and its damage dice are 6d8. You can use the Darksaber as your spell casting focus.
This item adds proficiency with Firearms, this only applies to the Darksaber. This weapon will show up on your character sheet as a ranged weapon. This is considered a melee weapon with a reach of 5 ft. Ignore all references to Ammunition, Firearms, Range, or Reloading. Ignore everything after this point.
It’s up to you to decide whether a character has proficiency with a firearm. Characters in most D&D worlds wouldn’t have such proficiency. During their downtime, characters can use the training rules in the Player’s Handbook to acquire proficiency, assuming that they have enough ammunition to keep the weapons working while mastering their use.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
Notes: Proficiency: Firearms, Replace Damage Type: Radiant, Weapon Property: Finesse, Weapon Property: Light, Ignore Weapon Property: Range, Ignore Weapon Property: Two-Handed, Ignore Weapon Property: Ammunition (Firearms), Ignore Weapon Property: Reload, Damage, Combat, Focus, Range, Two-Handed, Ammunition (Firearms), Reload, Sap
Is this based off mando?
Kinda. I put together a thread on the forums: Everything you need to know about creating Homebrew Weapons explaining some of the options and limitations of creating homebrew weapons. I created a lightsaber type weapon for every damage dice combination possible based on the limitations of the system, which is all damage dice combinations of 1d4 through 2d12 and 3d6, 3d8, and 6d8. This Darksaber is based off the 6d8 Antimatter Rifle. Basically I just used the most famous lightsaber from the canon Star Wars media to give the most powerful one a different name than all the others.
As for Mando, the Star Wars nerd in me wants to point out it was first mentioned in visual media (tv or movies) in Clone Wars and also Rebels before being
destroyed
in Mandalorian season 3.
