Made from the carapace of a giant ant and the silk of spiders, the Crown of the Insect Queen sports depictions of a multitude of common six-legged critters, ranging from the helpful such as the ladybug and dragonfly to the pests such as the ant and mosquito. Those who wear this item have near complete control of these minuscule creatures, sometimes even those that would otherwise be aggressive. You can use an action to force your will upon an enemy that possesses insect-like qualities. Whether it would work depends on your dungeon master. They must make a DC 15 wisdom saving throw or else be charmed by you until you choose to end it using a bonus action or you take a long rest. If the target has a wisdom score above 10, they make this save with advantage. If an enemy succeeds in this save, they are immune to this ability for the next 24 hours. You can do this an amount of times equal to your proficiency bonus.
Your power over insects is so potent, you are able to summon groups to your aid. At the end of a long rest, you can create up to 3 Swarms of Insects who always act after you in combat. Whether they have a climbing or fly speed depends on you when summoning them. You can speak to these Swarms telepathically and they will always follow your command, even if it directly harms themselves. The Swarms cannot go farther than 200 feet from you. They will often help in combat, but can serve other purposes such as the following. If one is occupying your space and it has a fly speed, it can use its action to carry you as if you yourself had a fly speed equal to theirs. If you are hit by a ranged attack and a Swarm is within 5 feet of you, you can use a reaction to order it to block the projectile, halving the damage you receive but also placing them in a bloodied state. You cannot use this ability if all the present Swarms are in a bloodied state.
you gain resistance to poison damage and advantage on saves against being poisoned.
