Greetings Beyonders!
I am very happy to announce an important change to how you can run your campaigns. The 12 active character limit has been replaced by a 12 active player limit.
Here are some important bits about this change:
- The DM does not count against the 12 player limit
- There is a new active character limit of 99 - this is subject to change as we are monitoring usage, performance, etc.
- If a campaign has met the 12 player limit, no new players can join (even if there are unclaimed characters)
Also, hi! I'm Dani and I'm a new(er) addition to the DDB team and I hope to be sharing many more updates with you guys in the future :)

That is correct, we have not changed any of that logic.
THIS IS AMAZING.
(thanks! Hi Dani)
I am not able to add any more characters to my campaign. I already have 12 active characters and get an error "There was a problem joining the campaign with that character."
If I deactivate a character (but not delete or remove), I was then able to add a character. All of the characters are assigned to one player at the moment. I am the DM and was trying to add characters as NPCs and for new Players being added to my campaign
Does this mean that if I own a Bundle and a Master Tier and share it in 3 campaigns now that if someone else runs games I play in has a Master Tier and enables content sharing those campaigns can use everything from my Bundle even though I've shared it to 3 campaigns already ?
Getting the same issue here, once I have 12 characters it has the "There was a problem joining the campaign with that character." error message.
Is there a way to add a player to the campaign now? I still only see adding characters, and while sure it makes sense that the owner of the character would count as a player, it would be nice to show both the players that are part of the campaign and which characters are joined as well.
Correct!
Great change. Now I'll be able to put NPC characters in the campaign.
We’ve got this fixed now. We had a goblin sneak into the works. Once we found it we eliminated it with extreme prejudice!
Go forth and enlist all the characters!
Confirmed. It is now working as advertise. Thanks!
This is excellent! Great job!
Thank you!
re:
Does removing players allow new players to be added? Or is 12 the cap and once that's done, it's done? I have a lot of players moving into and out of games, so this is something that I would like to clarify.
Also, have you considered a "Western Marches" style campaign setting, with a higher limit of players, but without the option for content sharing? I'd like to start moving my western marches stuff to here from Roll20, but this is a limiting factor.
Good news. Any update on Black/White listing for the sharing aspect of content??
Hi Dani!
I'm gonna be "that guy" that tells you that it should be "Beyonders" and not "Beyonder's". There. It's out. Now I can sleep well.
Hi Dani!
Dani, bringer of Great News -- be welcomed!
Removing a player will allow another to join. You can only have 12 players at any one time.
To your Western Marches comment, yes, we're thinking about it :)
You're right, it's been bothering me since I posted it. Fixed! :)
Still hoping to get a 4th campaign since i run 4 different games
Thanks for the reply! Awesome!
