Homebrew Yurei Species Details
Yurei are undead. They are made out of negative energy from the negative energy plane. This energy is contained within a thin magical membrane, which forms the rough outline of a humanoid. Yurei are created by a mortal being thrown into the annihilating reality of the negative energy plane. Not all who attempt to become a Yurei come out alive.
Yurei are genderless.
Yurei Traits
Yurei are quick on their feet, moving faster than most humanoids, allowing them to dodge attacks with ease and parry melee strikes among other things.Undead Nature
The Yurei does not require food, water, or sleep to survive.
Ability Score Increase
Your Dexterity score increases by 5. Your Wisdom score increases by 2. Your Strength and Charisma are decreased by 2. Your Constitution score decreases by 4.
Evasion
The Yurei are quick on their feet. When they come to be subjected to an effect that requires a Dexterity saving throw, the Yurei will take no damage on a success, and half of the damage on a failure.
Fragile Containment
The Yurei's body is easily pierced by weapons that afflict piercing damage. Upon taking piercing damage, it will begin to leak essence, taking 2 (1d4) force damage at the start of each of its turns.
Preternatural Reflexes
The Yurei can take the dash, disengage, or dodge action as a bonus action.
Master Swordsman
In addition to their unbelievable speeds, Yurei are experts in martial combat.
