You prick yourself open with the bone needle and let a droplet of your blood fall to the ground. You roll one of your hit dice and add your spellcasting ability modifier. This hit die is not expended from your hit die total.
Sacrificial Rite. Up to three willing creatures except yourself within 15-feet of you gain temporary hitpoints equal to the total rolled. You temporarily lose the same number of hitpoints from your hitpoint maximum.
Give And Take. You do not regain the lost hitpoints until the spell expires or you end the spell with an action so long as at least one hitpoint of the granted temporary hitpoints remain on any of the affected creatures. If none of the granted temporary hitpoints remain on the affected creatures before the spell ends, you do not regain your lost hitpoints back until a long rest.
At Higher Levels. You increase the number of targets this spell affects by one per spell level above 3rd you use to cast it.
