You attempt to manipulate your own time in order to take the place of the less prepared.
You travel to the space of the triggering creature, moving it to the closest unoccupied space of your choice that you can see and may immediately take an action. If casting a spell, that spell must be a Paladin spell of instantaneous duration.
If the triggering creature was hit by an attack on casting, the attacker rerolls to attack you instead. If, when cast, the creature was within the area of an effect causing it to make a saving throw, you make a saving throw against that effect. The triggering creature may reroll their saving throw and use the higher roll. Additionally, If the casting of this spell, or the action taken during, moves the creature outside the area of an effect causing it to make a saving throw, they automatically succeed and take no damage from the effect.
If traveling to this space wouldn't be possible with your type(s) of speed within range, you instead travel to the closest unoccupied space that is possible with no other effect taking place. For example, if you only possess a walking speed it would not be possible to travel to a creature hovering 20ft above the ground, however it would be if you processed a flying speed.
Manipulation of your time stream is not easy to bare and takes a toll on your body. Each casting of this spell, excluding the first after a long rest, causes you to suffer 1 level of exhaustion.
