Posted Dec 16, 2025I have a Life Domain Cleric in my group, and I'm wondering if the Life Domain bonus at level 3 (Disciple of Life) would grant an increase to both the Hit Points gained and the Max Hit Points gained, since gaining the bonus hit points for a creature at max wouldn't really do anything unless Max HP is also increased. The ability reads, "Level 3: Disciple of Life. When a spell cast with a spell slot restores Hit Points to a creature that creature regains additional Hit Points on the turn you cast the spell. The additional hit points equal 2 plus the spell slot's level."
My initial thoughts are "No, there wouldn't be an increase to MaxHP, since Disciple of Life doesn't reference being able to increase MaxHP," but just wanted to see if that's the general interpretation.

Posted Dec 22, 2025Your initial thoughts are correct. Disciple of Life says "...that creature regains additional Hit Points..." and doesn't say anything about increasing maximum HP, so it doesn't increase maximum HP.
Max HP increasing effects are very rare (actually Aid might be the only one in official material currently) so features that interact with them are basically non-existent.

Posted Jan 11, 2026can this be used as a healing spell for up to 3 people within 30 feet ? The specific wording segment
" . . . and current Hit Points increase by 5 for the duration. "
If a character is at 0 HP, this would heal them, would it not?

Posted Jan 12, 2026Yes, it certainly can. If a creature has 0 HP and is targeted by this spell, it would bring them up to 5 HP (or more if cast at a higher level) and per the general rules on healing, they'd no longer be Unconscious.

Posted Feb 7, 2026I believe Heroe's Feast also increases the max HP of a character
