You touch a rope. One end of it hovers upward until the rope hangs perpendicular to the ground or the rope reaches a ceiling. At the rope’s upper end, an Invisible 3-foot-by-5-foot portal opens to an extradimensional space that lasts until the spell ends. That space can be reached by climbing the rope, which can be pulled into or dropped out of it.
The space can hold up to eight Medium or smaller creatures. Attacks, spells, and other effects can’t pass into or out of the space, but creatures inside it can see through the portal. Anything inside the space drops out when the spell ends.

Posted Jun 1, 2026None of that is actually in the rules, though; that looks to be something made up by an AI tool. Whether the spell works the way you want it to underwater is a question for your DM.

Posted Jun 12, 2026"Attacks cannot pass into or out of the space." So does that mean that a creature can pass effortlessly through the portal, but if I try to shoot an arrow through an invisible force just stops it? But I can pass an arrow through, using my hand, if I don't have hostile intent? This seems like it could be exploited somehow...
On an unrelated note, I realized you could make a pretty stupid trap with this. You could cast this spell using a really long rope. Then you climb up it and fill the space up with rocks, arrows, etc. Then you pull the rope out. When your enemy passes under it, you end the spell, causing whatever you put in to fall down on them. It's a completely invisible trap that takes 10 minutes of setup and can be placed anywhere. Unfortunately, it lasts an hour max...

Posted Jun 15, 2026Yes, that's correct.
That does seem possible, though it also seems like something you could probably achieve with just a sturdy net.
