Posted Aug 24, 2026The D&D rules do not have any definition of "hostile acts", so it would be up to the targeted character's player to decide how they feel about being targeted by this spell.

Posted Sep 3, 2026The concentration on this spell is absurd. And not sure why there hasn't been an update to it. Hopefully all you other DM's just homebrew it to remove the concentration. It doesn't make them OP it just makes them viable and a lot more fun to play. Its really sad they aren't listening to the players. Updating it would be great but I doubt it'll happen. It shouldn't have to be homebrewed. If the rangers weren't built around it, it wouldn't be as much of an issue. But there's not nearly as many kits available to them as there was in 5e. Oh well...

Posted Oct 28, 2026Let's fix Ranger Level 13 - Relentless Hunter:
"Whenever you cast Hunter's Mark by expending a use of Favored Enemy, you can modify it so that it doesn't require concentration. If you do so, the spell's duration becomes 1 minute for that casting."
Voila: you now get the ability to cast Hunter's Mark without concentration at the same level that Rangers get access to their 4th level spells, most of which require concentration. Reducing its duration to 1 minute and tying it to uses of Favored Enemy might make it an actual limited resource in long adventuring days.
