Damage/Effect

You conjure a massive iron mortar (roughly 4 feet across) and its matching pestle in an unoccupied space on the ground within range. The mortar immediately fills with a churning, bubbling slurry of crushed herbs, splintered bones, strange fungi, and glowing runes, while the pestle begins grinding of its own accord with an eerie, rhythmic thump. The mortar and pestle cannot be moved and vanish when the spell ends or when the final potion is withdrawn.

As a bonus action, you or a willing creature within 5 feet of the mortar can reach in and withdraw one dose of potion, contained in a small vial carved from a human femur (the vial and any unused potion vanish if you cast the spell again). When you withdraw a dose, roll a d20 and consult the Baba Yaga's Elixir Table below to determine which potion the mortar produces.

The mortar can produce a number of potions equal to your spellcasting ability modifier (minimum 1). When the last potion is withdrawn, the mortar and pestle vanish, ending the spell.

Baba Yaga’s Elixir Table (d20)

  1. Potion of Eternal Crone – For 24 hours, you do not age, you gain 20 temporary hit points, and you have advantage on death saving throws.
  2. Potion of Riddle Mind – For 1 hour, you have advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened and on all Intelligence (Investigation) and Wisdom (Insight) checks.
  3. Potion of Cannibal Vitality – For 1 hour, whenever you reduce a creature to 0 hit points with a melee attack, you regain 2d6 hit points.
  4. Potion of Agonizing Cackle – For 1 hour, you can use a bonus action to cackle at one creature you can see within 60 feet. It must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be stunned until the end of its next turn. You can use this effect up to five times.

  6. Potion of Crone’s Wisdom – For 1 hour, you have advantage on all Intelligence and Wisdom ability checks.

  8. Potion of Skull Sight – For 1 hour, you have darkvision out to 120 feet and can see invisible creatures and objects.

  14. Potion of Voracious Appetite – For 1 hour, once per turn when you deal damage to a creature with a melee attack, you regain hit points equal to half the damage dealt.
