The master wizard, Xix, has discovered a new to create homunculus. While this new method does not create the Shared Mind effect contained within the normal create homunculus spell, it allows the caster to create a homunculus to use in place of a familiar. You cannot have more than one familiar, homunculus or otherwise.
NOTE: This version of the homunculus does not provide the Shared Mind feature. You still share a telepathic bond, but this is limited to 1 mile.

Posted Oct 4, 2018This was created because the Homunculus is an awesome looking little critter, but is super powerful with the constant link. Therefore, I lowered the level, and replaced the Shared Mind with the standard telepathic bond with a range of 1 mile.
GMs feel free to reduce the range if you feel 1 mile is too generous, I based it on the Pseudodragon's range
