Base Class: Monk

A monk who follows the Way of Breathing is one that has learnt total control over their body. They have harnessed a simple thing such as breathing and have transformed it as a way to strengthen themselves. Way of the Breath Monks believe that a breath and the oxygen derived from it can be sculpted and crafted to provoke different reactions and changes in their physiology. Through the deliberate and controlled breaths they take, Way of the Breath monks change and adapt their bodies for combat, and in some cases can incorporate ki to grant unique and mystical abilities. 

Controlled Breathing

Starting at 3rd level, you have the ability to cycle between certain breathing styles to enhance your self in combat. As a bonus action, you can adopt one of the breathing styles listed below. This breathing style lasts for 1 minute, until you are Incapacitated or knocked Unconscious or until you use a bonus action to change breathing styles. 

Water. You gain an AC bonus equal to your proficiency bonus until the start of your next turn each time you take the Dodge action. 

Fire. You gain a +1 to damage rolls when making an unarmed strike as part of your Flurry of Blows.

Wind. Each time you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, your movement speed increases by 10 feet until the start of your next turn.

Constant Breath

At 6th level, you train your body to maintain a passive form of the breathing styles at all times. At the end of a long rest, choose from the following breathing styles. You gain the benefit listed until you complete a long rest. 

Thunder. You focus your breathing to your legs. Your movement speed increases by 10 feet.

Sun. The increased oxygen to your arm muscles grants you advantage on Strength checks and saving throws. In addition, you can use your Dexterity modifier in place of your Strength modifier for all checks and saving throws.

Earth. Your skin hardens, granting you a +1 to your AC.

Ki Infused Breath

At 11th level, you infuse your breaths with Ki to enhance their abilities. You gain additional options for Controlled Breathing, although must expend 5 ki to activate it. All other rules in Controlled Breathing apply. 

Moon. Once per round, when you hit a target with a melee weapon attack, you can cause translucent crescent moons to appear and strike your target, dealing additional slashing damage equal to one role of your Martial Arts die. 

Beast. Your body transforms in minor ways to resemble some beast. You gain darkvision and tremorsense out to a range of 30 feet. If you already have these sense, they are increased by 30 feet.

Sound. When you make a melee weapon attack, you can create small sonic booms with each hit. Any creature hit by an must succeed on a Strength saving throw are be pushed back 15 feet and suffer 1d6 force damage.

Anwavering Breath

Beginning at 17th level, you've mastered the art of breathing in combat. You gain additional options for Controlled Breathing. As an action, you can expend 7 ki to adopt one of the breathing styles listed below. All other rules in Controlled Breathing apply. 

Immovable. You become immune to the IncapacitatedGrappled and Prone conditions. In addition, whenever you are knocked Unconscious, you can make a DC 21 Constitution saving throw to instead fall to 1 hitpoint.

Unstoppable. You gain a +3 to all melee attack and damage rolls, and regain 1d6 hitpoints at the start of each of your turns.
