Monk
Base Class: Monk

This subclass gives your character the gift of Blindsight. Through hours and hours of training with a blindfold. The subclass is based on the Sun Soul subclass in that you can fire force bolts from your hands. The class also has other things that fit in with the idea of controlling and using light. Monks that take this class will eventually get Blindsight through using a blindfold.

Light Bending Bolt

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can fire unseen bolts of force from your palms.

You gain a new attack option that you can use with the Attack action. This attack is a ranged spell attack with a range of 60ft (You can't use the Spell Sniper feat to change this). This attack can't be seen by the naked eye. If you hit a creature it knows the direction of the attack, and may roll a Perception check to see if they can tell who shot it. Also spells such as Detect Magic and See Invisibility can detect the bolt.

You are proficient with this attack, and you add your Dexterity modifier to its attack and damage rolls. Its damage is force, and its damage die is a d4. This die changes as you gain monk levels, as shown in the Martial Arts column of the Monk table.

You can Flurry of Blows this attack for 1 ki point. This attack does not count as an unarmed strike for the purposes of any other monk features.

Band of the Eye

Starting at 3rd level, when you choose this tradition, you are given a blindfold from your master. You are instructed that you must wear it whenever you are not in combat, or you are sparring.

While wearing the blindfold you have the condition Blinded. You can still make ranged attacks with disadvantage, and all attacks against you have advantage. As a bonus action you can remove your blindfold, and thus the Blinded condition is removed.

Darkness in Light

Starting at 6th level, you can use your ki to duplicate the effects of certain spells. As an action, you can spend 2 ki points to cast darkness, pass without a trace, lightning hands or silence, without providing material components. Additionally you gain the minor illusion cantrip.

Heightened Senses

Also at 6th level, you have gotten used to wearing your blindfold. As such while wearing your blindfold you no longer have the condition Blinded. You still fail any checks that require sight, excluding anything you can touch, taste, hear, or smell instead. If you use the four other senses for Perception checks you receive advantage on the check.

Attacks made against you no longer have advantage. You can also make ranged attacks up to 30ft without disadvantage.

Taking your blindfold off now you must let your eyes adjust to the light, if you are are in a bright area. You must wait 1 hour to let your eyes get used to the light. In this time you regain the Blinded condition as it is too much information to process.

You can negate this effect by concentrating on keeping your eyes closed or being in complete darkness. You must concentrate on keeping your eyes closed and are not allowed to cast any spells that require concentration. This delays the adjustment period as long as you are in darkness or have your eyes closed.

You See What I See

By 11th level you have a strong power in bending and shaping light. As such you may use an action and a ki point to select a creature that you can "see". This creature must make a Wisdom saving throw or become Blinded for 1 hour. The DC for this saving throw is 8 + your Wisdom modifier + your proficiency bonus.

By spending aditional ki points, to a maximum total of your Wisdom modifier (including the first one), you can target one additional creature.

Third Eye

At 11th level you also gain this feature. From wearing and training with your blindfold you gain 60ft of Blindsight. You no longer fail sight based checks within 60 feet. You can't see passed the 60-foot ring. If you become deafened or can't hear something you lose Blindsight all together or on that object respectively.

You no longer can remove your blindfold without becoming blind. If your blindfold is removed you can close your eyes as mentioned above.

Blinding Light

At 17th level, you become wreathed in a luminous, magical aura. You shed a bright blinding light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for another 30 feet. You can extinguish or restore the light as a bonus action.

If a creature tries to attack with a ranged attack within the blinding 30ft of light they have disadvantage. Also if a creature makes a melee attack while the light shines, you can use your reaction to deal radiant damage to the creature. The radiant damage equals 4 + your Wisdom modifier.
