The Alchemical Engineer looks into the chemical reactions to create grenades and potions alike

Tool Proficiency

3rd-level Alchemist feature

You gain proficiency with alchemist’s supplies. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan’s tools of your choice.

Alchemical Engineer Spells

3rd-level Alchemist feature

You always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Alchemist Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don’t count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.

Grenades

3rd-level Alchemical Engineer feature

You focus on creating grenade like thrown weapons to use in combat. These are created from a bag of reagents and cause force damage to targets hit.

Creating a grenade requires you to have alchemist’s supplies on your person.

Assistance Elixirs

5th-level Alchemical Engineer feature

The Alchemical Engineer can create 1d6 + intelligence modifier elixirs per long rest. These are taken from the below list, each elixir is rolled individually. 

Roll 1d6 for elixir type:

  1. Potion of Healing
  2. Speak with Animals
  3. Protection from Evil and Good
  4. Barkskin
  5. Shield
  6. Haste

These elixirs are concocted so that they are able to be thrown at friendly characters.
They have a thrown distance of 20ft and the Alchemical Engineer must pass a Dexterity test (DC:15 - Dexterity Modifier) in order to hit the target.

Shrapnel Grenades

9th-level Alchemical Engineer feature

The alchemical engineer can create shrapnel grenades per long rest.
Any unused grenades are disposed of on a long rest and used for reagents to make more. 

Shrapnel - All spaces within a 15ft square take 1d6 shrapnel damage

30ft range, no rolling to hit

Dex save for half damage

Chemical Mastery

15th-level Alchemist feature

You have been exposed to so many chemicals that they pose little risk to you, and you can use them to quickly end certain ailments:

  • You gain resistance to acid damage and poison damage, and you are immune to the poisoned condition.
  • You can cast greater restoration and heal without expending a spell slot, without preparing the spell, and without material components, provided you use alchemist’s supplies as the spellcasting focus. Once you cast either spell with this feature, you can’t cast that spell with it again until you finish a long rest.
