Monk
Base Class: Monk

Gear Technique:

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you learn to activate your gears. All monks learn gear 1, however you are pressing into this technique further, heading into mastery. You gain the knowledge to now wield gear 2. You unlock the knowledge of gear 3 at level 7, gear 4 at level 13, and gear 5 at level 18. You can expend 1 ki point to enter into gear 2, while it takes more ki to enter higher gears. While in these formations you can use any of its abilities freely. Using an ability from a different gear while in a gear requires 1 ki pointvand now that ability lasts the minute as well (Gear 5 abilities can only be used in Gear 5). Switching gears also requires the number of ki points for that gear. You can remain in gear for up to a minute at a time, and entering or switching gears requires a bonus action. Switching gears resets the duration.

Gears

Each Gear activates the previous gears.

Gear 2: (1 Ki point): Level 3

While in this gear, your movement speed is doubled, and all attacks deal additional damage equal to (1 + your dexterity modifier). Furthermore, your ac is raised by 2 and you gain advantage on dexterity saving throws as well as strength saving throws.

Gear 3 (2 Ki points): Level 7

You can inflate any part of your body with air, granting you various effects depending on how you apply the air.

Balloon Extremities: Enemies hit with your unarmed strikes are blown back 10ft.

Tank: You enter a defensive mode where you take 1d12 less damage from every hit taken.
