Tattoo Designs
3rd-level Tattooist feature
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you learn designs for tattoos that you can magically inscribe on a creature. Each tattoo takes 10 minutes to create and a creature can only benefit from one tattoo design at a time.
Designs. You learn four designs of your choice, which are detailed under “Designs” below. Three of these designs are permanent, while one can be swapped out for another on a long rest. You can have a number of tattoos active equal to 1 + proficiency bonus. You can use an action to remove a tattoo from an affected creature, allowing you to create a new design.
You learn two additional designs of your choice at 5th, 9th, and 15th level. Each time you learn new designs, you can also replace one permanent design you know with a different one.
Saving Throws. If a tattoo requires the target to make a saving throw to resist the tattoo's effects. The saving throw DC is calculated as follows:
Design save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Intelligence modifier.

You can create this pool a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. While the pool is active, you gain the following benefits:
- You can use a bonus action to target any creature standing within your pool with a design.
- The time it takes to tattoo a design is reduced to a bonus action.
- The area covered by your pool of ink is difficult terrain for any creature without a beneficial design.
Debuff Designs
You can choose 4 debuff designs from the list below, which you can use on enemy creatures while your pool of ink is active.
Broken Armor Design
While tattooed with this design a creature developed a weak point where the tattoo appears. The affected creatures AC drops by 1. This reduction lasts until the end of your next turn.
Broken Shield Design
While tattooed with this design a creature becomes sensitive to certain stimuli. The affected creature gains vulnerability to a damage type (your choice when you mark the creature). This vulnerability lasts until the end of your next turn.
Bullseye Design
While tattooed with this design a glowing symbol appears on the creature. While affected by this design, a creature is unable to hide or gain any benefits of invisibility. This design lasts for 1 minute.
Chain Design
While tattooed with this design a creature becomes distracted by the lingering pain. The affected creature gains disadvantage on a saving throw of your choice until the design fades. This lasts until the end of your next turn.
Hourglass Design
While tattooed with this design a creature succumbs to lethargy. The affected creature can use either an action or a bonus action, not both and cannot take reactions until the end of its next turn.
Needle Design

While the tattoo remains, the creature must make a constitution saving throw at the start of its turn, the creature takes 1d6 piercing damage, 1d6 psychic damage and 1d6 fire damage on a fail, or half as much on a success. This design lasts for 1 minute.
Question Mark Design
While tattooed with this design a creature becomes disorientated by appearance of the tattoo. The affected creature must move in a random direction to its full speed (if possible) and attack a random creature within reach. If no creature is within reach it takes no action this turn. This effect lasts until the end of its next turn.
