Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Critical Point understand that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. They meditatively seek out the weakest link in both themselves and the world, both the perfect themselves and shatter their foes with a few precise strikes.
Shatterpoint
At 3rd level, when you score a critical hit against a creature with unarmed strikes or monk weapons, you can roll a number of additional martial arts die equal to your proficiency bonus and add it to your damage.
Critical Training
Beginning at 3rd level, your attacks with unarmed strikes or monk weapons score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20. In addition, on your turn you can choose for your attacks with unarmed strikes or monk weapons score a critical hit on a roll of 18-20 until the beginning of your next turn; however, if you do so, you can only use your bonus action for Flurry of Blows until the end of your turn.
Pressure Points
At 6th level, when you score a critical hit against a creature, you do not need to spend ki to attempt a Stunning Strike. If you choose to use ki on the Stunning Strike, the creature makes its saving throw with disadvantage. In addition, if a creature successfully saves against your Stunning Strike, it has disadvantage on the next attack roll that it makes before the beginning of your next turn.
Critical Assault
At 11th level, when you score a critical hit against a creature with an unarmed strike or monk weapon, you can spend 1 ki to immediately make an additional attack with that same weapon. You can only make one such attack per round.
Critical Mastery
At 17th level, your attacks with unarmed strikes or monk weapons now score a critical hit on a roll of 18-20, or 17-20 if you choose to restrict your bonus action to Flurry of Blows for that turn. In addition, if you roll a 1 on an attack roll, you can spend 1 ki point to treat it as a 20.

Posted May 4, 2024Designer's Note: This is obviously a crit-fishing subclass. I really wanted a crit-fishing class, and monk seemed like a good candidate with its multiple attacks and low DPR. However, even with a subclass entirely dedicated to critical hits and dealing damage, this monk's DPR is comparable to an arcane trickster rogue with a rapier and booming blade. And it doesn't get spells. It does get better stunning strikes, one of the monk's standout features, which is nice. I considered making it stronger, but I decided to leave it as it is. Yes, it's a decidedly decent monk subclass, but critical hits are fun, and this subclass crits a lot!
