Base Class: Monk
Having been struck by lightning, its power still lingers and crackles beneath your skin. Through intense and rigorous training, you have begun to channel your Ki into this lightning, combining the two in order to control the energy that emanates from your body in order to make yourself fitting of a force of nature.
Lightning Strikes
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can discharge the power of the storm within you into your strikes.
When you hit another creature with a melee weapon attack, you can spend 1 ki point to deal 1d4 + Your Wisdom modifier in additional lightning damage to the target, and it can't take reactions until the start of your next turn. This die changes as you gain monk levels, as shown in the Martial Arts column of the Monk table.
Lightning Absorbtion
Having been bitten by thunderbolts and lightning by 3rd level, you can recharge when struck by lightning again. Whenever you are subjected to lightning damage you may spend a ki point and use your reaction to take no damage and instead regain a number of hit points equal to the lightning damage (before resistances or immunity are calculated).
In addition, you gain resistance to Thunder and Lightning damage.
Thunderbolts
At 11th level, you gain the ability to hurl spears of lightning at your targets. Whenever you make a ranged weapon attack with a monk weapon, you may spend 3 ki points to have the weapon’s ammunition, or the weapon itself if it’s a thrown weapon, transforms into a thunderbolt Make the attack roll as normal except attacking at long range doesn't impose disadvantage on the attack roll. The target takes 4d8 + your Wisdom modifier lightning damage on a hit, or half as much damage on a miss, instead of the weapon’s normal damage. This die changes as you gain monk levels, as shown in the Martial Arts column of the Monk table.
The piece of ammunition or weapon then returns to its normal form.
Storm Conduit
At 17th level, you have become able to call up the very storm which gave you your powers and use it against your enemies. You can use an action and spend 9 ki points in order to cast Storm of Vengeance. Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you complete a long rest.
You automatically succeed on any concentration check you make in order to maintain control of your Storm of Vengeance from the damage your Storm of Vengeance would deal to you.
In addition, you gain immunity to Lightning and Thunder damage.

Posted Nov 26, 2022Hey i love this subclass and are going to try it out in our next campaign.
1 question.
is the Lightning Absorption Ability supposed to be at lv 3 or is it a typo, and it is a lv 6 ability?
