Base Class: Monk
Those who follow the Way of the Gambler see the world as one big gamble, and they use their ki to rig the odds in their favor.
Big Winner
At 17th level, whenever 3 die win either in Restless Luck or in Ki Slots the words “JACKPOT” appear in front of you via an illusion and at the start of each turn for the next 5 rounds you gain 6d6 temporary hp, as well you gain 1 ki point at the start of your turn. At the end of the aforementioned 5 rounds, this temporary hp and ki is removed.
Rigged Game
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain the following ki techniques:
All or Nothing
Whenever you make an attack roll, an ability check, or a saving throw you may spend 1 Ki point to activate this technique for that roll. When a roll is affected by this technique, if it succeeds it is considered a critical success, but if it fails it is considered a critical failure.
The House Always Wins
Whenever a creature targets you, you may spend 1 Ki point to give that attack roll, and any other attack roll they make against you within the following 1d4-1 rounds, disadvantage.
Cheater
You can spend 1 ki to reduce the difficulty of any roll by 1d4, this technique can only be applied once.
Ki Slots
At 6th level, you gain the ability to gamble your ki. When activated, choose an amount ki points you wish to bet then roll 3 d20 the numbers you roll on each die and the amount of ki you bet appear in front of you as an illusion and then fade away after the end of your turn.
If a die’s roll equals or exceeds 13, the die succeeds and is considered “won”, if not it fails and “loses”, for the purposes of abilities, this roll counts as an ability check.
If one or none of the die you rolled won, you lose all ki that you bet.
If 2 of the die rolled are won, your prize is you keep the ki that you bet, and then also gain one-half of that bet (rounded down)
if 3 of these die are won you gain an amount of ki equal to double your bet
Restless Luck
By 11th level, you can truly risk your ki. If one or more of the die you rolled won, then the next time you use Ki Slots, you may use Restless Luck’s rules instead of Ki Slots. Restless Luck’s rules are as follows:
If one or none of the die your rolled won, roll 1d12, if any of the dice that lost rolled a number equal to this number then they may be rerolled, after this reroll if none of the die won you lose the Ki you bet, if only one lost you only lose half of the ki that you bet (rounded down).
If 2 of the die rolled are won, your prize is you keep the ki that you bet, and then also gain 1/2th of that bet (rounded down), additionally you gain an amount of hit points equal to your highest die’s roll
if 3 of the die are won you gain an amount of ki equal to double your bet + your proficiency bonus, also you gain an amount of temporary hp equal to 4d6
