Artificer
Base Class: Artificer

This subclass is based off of the “Sage” job from Final Fantasy XIV.

You are the wielder of a technology knows as Nouliths. Perhaps you found them, were gifted them, replicated them, etc. These four, dronelike monoliths were used by Sages of eld to provide healing and shielding to allies in a multitude of ways. You are their inheritor.

Your nouliths work in tandem with your arcane focus, augmenting and enhancing your abilities. As you grow stronger and wiser, you will uncover the hidden abilities of your nouliths, and eventually reach the full power of a Sage.

Lore Seeker

3rd-Level Sage Feature

You gain proficiency with cartographer’s tools. If you already have this tool proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan’s tools of your choice. Additionally, you have advantage on history and religion checks relating to ancient and/or fallen civilizations.

Dosis

3rd-Level Sage Feature

Your nouliths function not only as a means to defend, but to attack.

You can use your nouliths to fire a barrage of energy bolts. This is magical ranged weapon attack called Dosis that uses your Intelligence score. They deal 1d4+your Intelligence modifier force damage.

At 5th level, the damage die becomes a d6 and you can make two attacks with it. At 11th level, it becomes a d8, and at 15th level, it becomes a d10.

Sage Spells

3rd-Level Sage Feature

You always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Sage Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don't count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.

Eukrasia

5th-Level Sage Feature

Eukrasian Diagnosis/Prognosis. When you cast a healing spell, you grant the creature temporary hit points equal to your Intelligence modifier that stack with temporary hit points from other sources ONLY (The name is purely for flavor purposes, Diagnosis being the single target version and Prognosis being the aoe version). In order to activate this, you must choose to do so before making the roll.

Additionally, when you heal a creature and the amount of points rolled is greater than the amount of hit points the creature is missing, add those excess hit points to the amount of temporary hit points received.

Eukrasian Dosis. Once per turn when you damage a creature with Dosis, you can forgo rolling and deal a set amount of damage equal to your Intelligence modifier. If damage is dealt in this way, the creature damaged will take the same amount of damage at the start of their next 2 turns. In order to activate this, you must choose to do so before making the attack roll.

Extra Attack

5th-Level Sage Feature

You can attack twice with your Dosis attack.

Icarus

9th-Level Sage Feature

Your studies into the intricacies of the nouliths have borne fruit, allowing you to speed around the battlefield. Your movement speed magically increases by 10 feet, and you can take the dash action as a bonus action.

Addersgall

15th-Level Sage Feature

Your continued efforts at unlocking the full power of the nouliths have resulted in the discovery of the Addersgall: A set of new support abilities, but with very limited energy to use.

The Addersgall function has 3 charges which reset after a long rest. A charge can be expended to activate one of the following abilities:

Kerachole. As an action, unleash protective energy within a 15 foot radius centered on yourself. All friendly creatures within that radius take 5 less damage from all sources until the end of your next turn. Additionally, at the start of a creature that received Kerachole’s next turn, they regain hit points equal to 1d10+your Intelligence modifier.

Druchole/Ixochole. As a bonus action, briefly boost your nouliths’ power levels. The next time you cast a spell that heals a creature, roll twice as many die as you normally would (The name is purely for flavor purposes, Druchole being the single target version and Ixochole being the aoe version).

Taurochole. As a bonus action, boost your nouliths’ protective abilities. The next time you heal a creature, that creature will gain a +3 bonus to their Armor Class and saving throws until the end of your next turn.
