Base Class: Bard
Not all art worthy of studying takes place on a stage or on a canvas. Sometimes the art takes place in the kitchen. The Bards who choose the College of Culinary Arts understand this. They have realized the quickest way to the heart - or to victory - is through the stomach. Using their magical Treats and other special gastronomy skills they develop, they empower allies in battle and keep everyone happy and fed.
Level 3: Gourmet Inspiration
Your Bardic Inspiration now takes the form of Treats instead of Bardic Inspiration die. Treats are given as a Bonus Action to a target creature within 60ft. The target creature may use a Bonus Action of their own to consume the Treat, becoming the Consumer and gaining the effects of the Treat immediately. Treats last for 4 hours after given, after which they expire and magically disintegrate. You may hand out any number of Treats available at a time with no limit to how many a single target may hold. Treats have no intrinsic gold value.
Treats may take one of four flavors, determined when given to a target. The type may be determined via a 1d4 roll or declared by you. The types are as follows:
Savory Treat
The consumer gains temporary hit points equal to your Bardic Inspiration (roll) die plus your Charisma and Constitution modifiers They also heal for the same amount. The temporary hit points last for 1 hour.
Sweet Treat
The consumer may make a saving throw to end one of the following conditions: Charmed, Frightened, Poisoned, Blinded, Deafened, or 1 level of Exhaustion. The saving throw is made with a bonus equal to your Bardic Inspiration die (roll). The DC for this saving throw is equal to the DC of the effect that caused the condition. If no such DC exists, the DC is 20 minus twice your Proficiency Bonus.
Spicy Treat
The consumer's next weapon or spell attack that hits within the next minute deals additional Fire damage equal to your Bardic Inspiration die (roll).
Original Recipe Treat
Once within the next 4 hours following consumption, the consumer may reroll a d20 roll that they performed of their choice, but they must take the second result.
Inspired Chef
If you have the feat Chef, the effects it provides are stronger:
- When you cook special food using Chef, the extra Regained hit points is equal to 1d8 plus a roll of your Bardic Inspiration die.
- All of your Treats provide the temporary hit points from the Chef Feat's treats.
You also gain proficiency with Daggers (Chef Knife) and Handaxes (Meat Cleaver)
Level 6: Elemental Seasoning
You may change the damage type of any spell you cast to Fire, Acid, or Poison a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus per Long Rest.
Hearty Helpings
Once per long rest when you cause one or more creatures to gain temporary hit points from a spell, class feature, Feat, or Treat you can choose to have those temporary hit points instead increase each affected creature’s maximum hit points by the same amount. The increased maximum HP is lost when that creature finishes a long rest. The maximum hit points may be removed by Dispel Magic and similar effects. This effect only applies once per spell casting or feat use (e.g. Heroism only increases maximum hp once, subsequent effects are still temporary HP / Aid, Chef, or Inspiring Leader would increase maximum HP for all affected).
Level 14: Feast of Resistances
Once per Long Rest, you may grant a number of creatures equal to half of your Proficiency Bonus rounded down Resistance to five elemental types of your choice (Acid, Cold, Fire, Lightning, Necrotic, Poison, Psychic, or Thunder) until they finish a Rest or consume any other liquid, food, or potion (excluding Treats)
Master Chef
Your Treats now take No Action to consume instead of a Bonus Action.
