Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Paladins who swear the Oath of the Scout commit themselves to service, preparedness, and leadership—whether in the wilderness or among civilization. These oathbearers are often the glue of adventuring parties, the compass in times of chaos, and the hand that reaches out when others fall.

Bound by a code rooted in honor and kindness, Scout Paladins learn early how to survive in harsh environments, lead by example, and lend a helping hand. Their power flows not from divine wrath, but from moral clarity, teamwork, and the enduring flame of hope and responsibility.

While some Scout Paladins uphold the traditions of an ancient order or adventuring academy, others build their own “troops,” guiding the next generation of explorers. Their sashes are often stitched with magical merit badges earned through heroic deeds and dedicated study, each one a reminder: Be prepared. Do a good turn daily. Help others at all times. Be clean, careful, considerate, and conservation-minded.

Aura of Preparedness

You and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you can’t be surprised and gain advantage on Initiative rolls.
At 18th level, the aura increases to 30 feet.

Trust the Training

When a creature within 30 feet of you fails a saving throw, you can use your reaction to let them reroll it. They must use the new roll.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum 1), and regain all uses on a long rest.

Level 20: Eagle Scout’s Honor

You can assume the mantle of a legendary Scout. As an action, you gain the following benefits for 1 minute:

  • You sprout incorporeal golden eagle wings, gaining a flying speed of 30 feet.

  • You and friendly creatures within 30 feet can’t be frightened and gain +10 feet to movement speed.

  • When you use Lay on Hands, you can do so as a bonus action, and it heals the maximum amount for each point used.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.

Level 3: Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options:

Be Prepared

As a bonus action, you reach into your satchel or belt and produce a mundane, non-magical item of your choice (like a crowbar, flask of oil, net, or whistle) that could reasonably be carried in a pack. The item vanishes after 1 hour or if you use this ability again.
Alternatively, you may retroactively say you had the item on you if it would reasonably fit in your gear, with DM discretion.

Knot of Duty

As an action, you conjure spectral ropes of honor and service. One creature within 30 feet must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be restrained for 1 minute. It can repeat the save at the end of each of its turns. The ropes glow with a soft golden light and vanish on success or if you lose concentration (as if concentrating on a spell).
