Base Class: Artificer
A chandler is an artificer who works entirely with a wax medium. These professionals manufacture candles for all occasions, including a wax golem that may not have the structural integrity a stone golem does but is substantially cheaper to make and distribute. The aesthetics of the creations of a Chandler are very popular among libraries, and a wax Golem is a common sight in their halls.
Tool Proficiency
3rd-level Alchemist feature
You gain proficiency with Chandler Supplies.* If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan’s tools of your choice.
Chandler Spells
3rd-level Chandler feature
You always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Chandler Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don’t count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.

Melting Spells
Whenever a Chandler casts an Artificer spell that deals fire damage using their Chandler Supplies as the Material Component for the spell, they can also force the target(s) of the spell to make a Strength Saving Throw or become coated in a thin layer of wax. While coated this way their movement speed is halved. The wax coating can be removed with an action to scrape the coating off.
Also, Artificer spells cast with the Chandler Supplies that have cloud in their name, such as Fog Cloud or Cloudkill, are made with a thick layer of soot, causing creatures within the cloud unable to breathe, anyone trying to cast a spell while within the cloud with a verbal component must make a Constitution Saving Throw with a DC of 10 or fail to cast the spell.
Wax Effigy
5th-level Chandler feature
You can take the time to create a wax effigy of a creature. During a short rest, you can spend 25g of wax and oils using your Chandler Supplies to create a Wax Effigy. Once completed, the Effigy comes to life and is able to silently mimic the creature it resembles. This ability functions much like the Animate Dead spell with the following differences;
The creature can use the statistics of any non-flying beast of CR 1/4th or the original options of skeleton or zombie, however they look just like the original, though uncanny.
The effect doesn’t automatically expire after 24 hours. However, whenever you use this feature again, the previous creation stops functioning.
Finally, your Effigy’s are able to improve over time, their max hp is equal to the base hit points of the creature or 4 times your Artificer lever, whichever is higher. They can use your spell hit chance instead of their own to make attacks and their damage is increased by 1d6 fire damage at 5th level Artificer, 2d6 at 11th and 3d6 at 17th. These creatures are always considered Constructs instead of their original type. If the Effigy was slain within the last hour, you can take an action to touch it and expend a 2nd level or higher spell slot. The Effigy reforms and reanimates after 1 minute with all of its Hit Points.
Wax Seal
9th-level Chandler feature
You can use your Chandler Supplies to make a special wax seal that can be affixed to a person’s clothing. Eight hours after creation, the seals melt away rendering them inert. Those who wear your wax seal have the effects of the Death Ward spell. If the spell would end due to its own effect, the seal splits and falls off, losing its effect. You can make four of these seals per day, and you can only have that many active at any given time.
Wax Golem
15th-level Chandler feature
The Wax Effigy can now use the statistics of a Stone Golem, as the Chandler has mastered their ability to create truly impressive beings made of wax. The Wax Golem can’t cast the slow spell of the Stone Golem, and its hit point maximum is only 6 times that of the Artificer’s level, even if the original’s base max hp would be higher. In addition, you must spend a 4th level spell slot or higher to reanimate a Wax Golem.
