College of the Chord

College of the Chord is a determinist philosophy. Every living being is a performer and a composer, that can influence the very destiny of the world. It's not a rational view, since it is based on feelings and emotions rather than a so-called universal and eternal truth. This philosophy is centered on humility and community, where every individual person only represents a small note in a wider ensemble created by a collective effort.

The Chord is a philosophy based on action, promoting active listening and a force of will strong enough to have a real impact on reality and the flow of events, impacting the harmony of the world.

 

Level 3: Martial Training

You gain proficiency with Martial weapons and training with Medium armor and Shields.

In addition, you can use a Simple or Martial weapon as a Spellcasting Focus to cast spells from your Bard spell list.

Level 3: Tuned to the Harmony of the World

You have trained your soul to be in tune with the melody of life.

You can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to give yourself advantage on Perception and Insight checks for 1 hour.

Additionally, when you fail a Wisdom (Insight or Perception) check, you can expend one Bardic Inspiration Die and add that die to the d20, potentially turning the failure into a success.

Level 6: Extra Attack

You can attack twice instead of once whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

In addition, you can cast one of your cantrips that has a casting time of an action in place of one of those attacks.

Level 14: Fighting the Cacophony

After an enemy attack that would make you or an ally that can hear you within 60ft. drop to 0 hit points, you can spend your Reaction and expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to force the attacking creature to reroll its attack roll.

In addition, you can add a roll of your expended Bardic Inspiration die to the target of the attack’s AC against this attack.
