Base Class: Paladin
Gold above all.
The Oath of Wealth binds Paladins to the ideals of gold above all else. Making money is the primary goal. The Goddess A'yuu is your deity. She is known as a golden statue. Any golden statue with her likeness, regardless of size, may sometimes be possessed by A'yuu. Allowing her to move the statue and speak with the person who prayed for her arrival. A’yuu values gold above all else, even other currencies. She will sacrifice her own devotees if she believes the gold value of their death outweighs the value of their life (this is rare, since Paladins can spend their lives searching for gold.)
All costs may be adjusted at GM’s discretion. For example, a campaign may not have much gold to hand around, so the costs of level 3 features might be changed to 1 GP. Another example; you’re already rich and affluent, features cost 10 GP.
These paladins share the following tenets:
-Gold is valued more than other currencies.
-Protect those that allow you to earn more gold.
-Wealth is to be spent, not hoarded. The only reason to hoard is to earn more, if the hoard isn’t earning, it’s not worth keeping.
Any Paladin above level 3 may choose to forsake their own Oath and swear allegiance to A’yuu. At the cost of 100 GP per level in Paladin, the Paladin may switch to Oath of Wealth, losing their current Oath bonuses.
Level 3: A’yuu’s Magic
As a Magic action, you can expend one use of your Channel Divinity to cast a spell without expending a spell slot. Roll 1d6 per spell level of the spell you wish to cast. (Example roll 1d6 for a level 1 spell, or 5d6 for a level 5 spell).
If you sacrifice gold equal to the amount rolled, you can cast the spell as per usual. Keeping all VSM components and the action/bonus action cost of the spell. But you do not expend a spell slot. This feature can be used even when you when you have no spell slots remaining. Channel Divinity is expended even if you choose not to sacrifice the gold.
The sacrificed gold disappears, becoming a tribute to A'yuu.
Level 3: A'yuu's Strike
When you miss an Attack you can expend one use of your Channel Divinity and roll 1d4, if you sacrifice that amount of GP the attack becomes a hit. Channel Divinity is expended even if you choose not to sacrifice the gold.
The sacrificed gold disappears, becoming a tribute to A'yuu.
Level 3: Oath of Wealth Spells
The magic of your oath ensures you always have certain spells ready; when you reach a Paladin level specified in the Oath of Wealth Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.
| Paladin Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 3 | Armor of Agathys, Create or Destroy Gold |
| 5 | Darkvision, Molten Gold |
| 9 | Blinding Smite, Daylight |
| 13 | Fabricate, Guardian of Faith |
| 17 | Creation, Mislead |
Level 3: Trick Shot
Gold becomes a weapon for you, you can throw 1 coin of gold as if it were a simple weapon you’re proficient with and have mastery with. The coin uses all the same stats as a dagger, including Nick, except it deals bludgeoning damage rather than piercing, and can only be thrown, not used in melee. The coin is not usually destroyed or damaged from this throw, but may be at the GM’s discretion.
Level 7: Aura of Avaricious
You gain Advantage in Sleight of Hand and Persuasion skill checks.
In addition, whenever an ally enters your Aura of Protection for the first time on a turn or starts their turn there, the ally gains advantage in Sleight of Hand and Persuasion until the end of their next turn.
Level 15: Gilded Blow
When you deal damage, you may spend gold equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of one) to deal bonus damage, of the same type, equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of one).
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.
Level 20: A'yuu's Champion
Become the embodiment of A’yuu herself! You encase your body in a magical golden glow.
As a Bonus Action, you gain the benefits below for 1 minute, or until you end them (no action required). Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a Long Rest. You can also restore your use of it by expending a level 5 spell slot (no action required).
A’yuu’s Blessing. At the start of each of your turns, gain 10 GP.
A’yuu’s Radiance. Whenever an enemy starts its turn within your Aura of Protection, it takes Radiant damage equal to your Charisma modifier plus your Proficiency Bonus.
Golden Aura. Your Aura of Protection is considered Bright Light and if any of this Aura’s area overlaps with an area of Darkness created by a spell of level 3 or lower, that other spell is dispelled. Additionally, you can see Invisible creatures within your Aura of Protection.
