Base Class: Artificer
In the world of Avalestra, there are a number of special materials available for use in the creation of magical items. Some of these amazing materials are easier than others to obtain and work with, yet few are harder to obtain and work with than the astonishing fabric of Starweave. An ancient technique most often taught by Sun Elves and Lunar Elves, these Artificers are some of the few individuals with the intellect, skill, and sheer luck capable of drawing the Stellar Strings from the Aethres and weaving them tightly into the telekinetic skeins required to shape the amazing fabric known as Starweave. These gifted craftspersons are not only able to swirl the Aetheric strands to craft it, they can lash out with strings made out of magical power, and are capable of empowering themselves and vexing enemies with their mysterious and tremendous "fateweaving" powers, also.
Tool Proficiency
When you adopt this specialization at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with Weaver's Tools. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan's tools of your choice.
Starweaver Spells
Starting at 3rd level, you always have certain spells prepared after you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Starweaver Spells table. These spells count as Artificer Spells for you, but they don't count against the number of Artificer Spells you prepare.

Fateweaving
It is said that the threads of Starweave are pulled from the Aethres as the concepts of individuals' fate in various moments of history. Starweavers pull these "strands of fate" into a physical, magical substance, and they can even use these threads to influence their own destiny or the destiny of others with magical means. You gain the following benefits:
- you gain the Lucky feat. If you already have this feat, you may choose another feat instead.
- you learn the Encode Thoughts cantrip. Furthermore, you now have a new way to utilize thought strands created by the cantrip. You may gather together 3 thought strands and weave them into a Fateweave. Only one such Fateweave that you have created can be in existence at one time. A Fateweave may be used as an action to replenish one spent Luck point, and once it is used, the thought strands dissolve and vanish, returning the stored thoughts within them to the mind or minds from where they came. You may create one Fateweave before you must complete a long rest to use this feature again.
Strands of the Stars
At 5th level, you gain the ability to create more sturdily reinforced threads of magical power which can be used to attack and bind your enemies. As an action, you can create a Star Strand, which is a long, silvery thread that resembles glimmering silver string. You may treat this as if it were a whip with which you are proficient. As a bonus action, you can double the reach of this whip-like strand out to 20 feet until the beginning of your next turn. Damage dealt by the Star Strand is treated as if it were magical for the purposes of overcoming resistance. The Star Strand lasts for a number of minutes equal to your Artificer level, but you may freely dismiss it at any time, in which case it dissolves and vanishes.
String Theories
At 9th level, you master the shaping of your Star Strand to be able to utilize several magical effects to attack, bind, or restrict your enemies. You learn the Thorn Whip cantrip, and the Ensnaring Strike and Entangle spells, and you may cast them with your Star Strand enveloping, wrapping, lashing, and restraining your target instead of thorny vines. These spells replace the plants and thorny vines they typically conjure with lengths of tough, gleaming wires, and any of these spells that would deal magical piercing damage now deal magical slashing damage from the tough, razor thin wire of the Star Strand instead. By expending your Star Strand as part of casting these spells, you may cast either Ensnaring Strike or Entangle without using a spell slot. When casting Ensnaring Strike in this way, you may still use the Star Strand for it's whip-like attack as the attack that triggers the spell, and the Star Strand then animates itself to leave your grip and wrap the target as part of the bonus action of the spell being cast. When casting Entangle in this way, the Star Strand animates itself to leave your grip and appears to pass through the ground and back out again several times rapidly, creating multitudes of silvery loops of the thread in the spell's area to challenge your foes.
Master of Fate's Skeins
At 15th level, you gain the ability to create a marvelous fabric known as Fatewoven Starweave. Any creature that wears a garment or armor made from this material immediately understands some vital foresight of their own fate, and gains other wondrous benefits, too. By expending double the gold costs of creating a garment or armor, and at least 2 hours time, you create a Fatewoven Starweave shirt, robe, or padded armor. This item, once attuned, has the Glamoured armor property and those who wear this item gain a +2 magic bonus to their armor class and resistance to cold damage. A robe made of this material, once attuned, also bestows one Luck point to the wearer, and they may expend it as if they possessed the Lucky feat. This Luck point is restored each day at dawn. Those who attune this robe and possess the Lucky feat instead gain 4 Luck points when they finish a long rest, instead of 3.
Furthermore, you gain some special rejuvenation you can muster through your own Fatewoven Starweave shirt, robe, or armor. While you are wearing the attuned item, whenever you expend one of your Luck points granted by the Lucky feat, you may also regain one spell slot of up to 2nd spell level.
