So these new invocation choices are exciting and present some interesting choices. While I’m tempted to take some that modify my Eldritch Blast (Lance of Lethargy) or possibly Hex (Maddening Hex) I think the utility options would help my party more. At level 6 I currently have Agonizing Blast, Book of Ancient Secrets and Mask of Many Faces - for level 7 I’m leaning toward Ghostly Gaze, Gift of the Depths or Sculptor of Flesh.
What ways are you planning to use the new options?
I’ve been playing a Warlock using The Hexblade patron for a little while now. I’m only level three though, so the only invocation I can currently use that interests me is the Improved Pact Weapon. It seems pretty sweet to me!
The only problem with bladelock is that there is no invocation that lets you create 2 light weapons so you no dual wielding
The Hexblade's Hex Warrior can apply to two weapons - the weapon they touch, and their pact weapon. Alternatively, you can use Shadow Blade for your bonus attack.
I have this idea of a "smuggler" assassin, evil/monster hunter, for my Hexblade/Pact of the Blade Warlock.
I will be taking: - Improved Pact Weapon - Many Faces - Level 5 - Thirsting Blade
He will be a ranged assassin who will also take Sharpshooter at level 4 for a feat. Thirsting Blade specifies pact weapon, not a melee weapon, so Thirsting will affect my pact Longbow/Shortbow (whichever I summon). Hide in plain sight with Disguise Self (Many Faces), hide his weapon (pact), and Charisma based skills to persuade/deceive those he needs to get beyond. From a distance I summon a bow, or if enemies are in my grill, summon up a greatsword and go ham.

Pact of the blade only let's you summon melee weapons though :(
Unless you find a magical ranged weapon and turn that into your pact weapon.

Thanks to Improved Pact Weapon we can now create a shortbow, longbow, light crossbow, or heavy crossbow as our pact weapon.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile.
Yeah I couldn’t wait long enough for my physical copy to arrive haha
The book should be available already at local game stores too.

I bought the book but i do not see the new evocations? Mind telling me where they are once i buy the book? I have looked everywhere.
Edit: Nevermind. Figured it out.
I am so excited for Improved pact boon and Invisibility at will. I will also be switching to hex blade and getting Maddning Hex and Relentless Hex
I like Cloak of Flies for my hexblade, though it may make my DM focus fire me down.
Amen to that! :)
