Given the linkage between DDB and Critical Role, and to ride the hype wave of CR's Animation Series KickStarter campaign, it seems a no-brainer to find a way to provide Tal'Dorei as a Source book on D&D Beyond - especially given that Mercer's Blood Hunter is already here, showing things like this can be incorporated.
It is curious to me to find Blood Hunter, but not Way of the Cobalt Soul for Monks, as an example. And now, with Acquisitions Incorporated coming soon, it is clear DDB can do what it wishes outside of standard Forgotten Realms and re-swizzle of older AD&D adventures. Don't get me wrong, I love those re-swizzles - keep them coming. I just want the opportunity to plop them down in Tal'Dorei, for instance.
Why not? It would be embraced by more than a few of us. Further revenue for DDB and all involved. Just saying....
Adam/Badeye (Project lead) has said they would love to include third party material (like Taldorei), but it is complicated from a licensing/business standpoint, and those complications haven’t been able to be sorted yet. It involves cooperation and agreement between WOTC, DDB, Green Ronin and (presumably) Matt Mercer. If you haven’t done so already, I’d encourage you to let Green Ronin know you want their Taldorei guide available on DDB, too.
In terms of why the Blood Hunter is hear and Cobalt Soul is not: Blood Hunter is not in the Taldorei Guide. Matt was the only one (outside of DDB) who had to agree to have it included here, as far as I know. The Taldorei book was published by Green Ronin, so they have to be willing to let it appear here, not just Matt.
