I actually disagree. The format for the page is very friendly with all of the basic information needed to play your character literally being located at the top of the page. The only addition I would like to see is that modifiers like sneak attack added to the attack section.
I know this is a beta and I'm sure Arcane Trickster will be added to the Roguish Archetypes soon enough. In the meantime, is there a way to manually add spells?
Dear God reading this forum is just frustrating. Does anyone actually bother to read previous posts before posting their own? This keeps up and asking the devs why [insert NON SRD content here]is not in the character builder is going to become a running joke forever lol.
I have encountered a rather weird issue where after selecting a randomly generated character, I received a human with a breath weapon? And they were a rogue with rage? Not sure if this was an isolated case or of the random generator actually randomized everything lol.
I think my level 5 Rogue's Passive Perception is calculated incorrectly. He has 9 Wis (-1) and expertise in Perception (+5). The character sheet says 15. Doing the math according to the PHB:
10 + (-1) + (+5) = 14
Isn't it? Or did I miss something?
At 5th level, the proficiency bonus is +3, so expertise gives +6, not +5.
Hey, I was trying out the character builder, making a multiclass Barbarian/Monk and I noticed that on the character sheet it calculated my AC as being 10 + my dexterity modifier + my constitution modifier + my wisdom modifier. I'm assuming this is because it made the "Unarmored Defence" Barbarian class feature stack with "Unarmoured Defence" Monk class feature. These features are not meant to stack (PHB pg. 164).
I know a lot of things are still incoming, so let me know if I'm just jumping the gun.

1) Rogues have an extra Ability Score Improvement @ lvl 10 that's not in the builder.
2 questions --
1) with the homebrew content: I assume at some point you'll be able to add those to your inventory, be they items or mounts or companion beasts or whatever? And those things will tally appropriately on the sheet?
2) let me know if I'm just missing this option somewhere. Is there going to be a way to add skills & feats a la carte? e.g. Plot-driven power ups or spending the 250 adv days to gain a language or skill proficiency or... Something.
I used the character build with a set of newbie players and it was a big time saver - they didn't seem to have any unexpected problems with it.
The one thing I would like to see (I know you're already working on printing and all that) would be a 'In This Campaign' panel where the DM could collect all the PC sheets together. I imagine most experienced players wouldn't need it, but I play with a lot of new people who need help and if I could pull up their sheets with a click (or even just their basic stats) it would save having to walk around and hover over their shoulder. It could also be great for long distance games.
The easy solution is obviously screen grabs, but this way I could also see exactly what they're looking at in terms of special effects and things like that in real time.

Overall though I found the character creation great!
Hiding options within fold-out menus is a bit frustrating
On desktop devices it would be nice to get a second column rather than only using a small portion of the screen
Spell and Equipment management is super frustrating unless you already know what you want.
The semi-opaque loading thingamy doesn't look great, don't fill the screen, and is frustrating to flash up when whatever it's doing takes less than a second. Consider backgrounding those updates.
Suggested Characteristics is a bit awkward to show in a fold-out and then expect me to fold out another menu then copy/paste from one to the other.
When I click on "Manage Equipment" it hide the "starting equipment" text, so I have to remember what I'm looking for in between opening and closing that modal a bunch.
Starting Equipment / Starting Gold is not obviously a tab set.
Searching for "Leather Armor" in the equipment manager turns up no results because it's called Leather. Searching "Leather" yields dozens of magical leathers for my level 1 character, actual leather armor near the bottom.
Background equipment not in the equipment table, (Soldier's Insignia of Rank, e.g.) don't show up in the equipment manager and don't indicate why not.
Item packs don't break apart into the items they're composed of.
Would it be possible to add more than 1 thing to inventory at a time? It was a little tedious to add equipment. I dont have a great suggestion, but it would be nice imo if you could check on and off filters and select multiple items into a bucket or wishlist without resetting the list completely with each item. Then hit "add all" at the end. Idk if that's better really. Just a thought.
Oh wow, the random character generator needs some serious work, lol. For one thing, it should really prioritise stats, or at least stat minimums, in the primary or secondary ability scores. For another, multi-classing requires stat minimums and I just got a character with no stat above 12 and five classes.

Issue, adding multiple of an issue appears to be hanging. tried adding 20 arrows instead of 1 and just hangs there.
Suggestion, summery tooltips, a lot of the drop down lists just have the selection name, but with no indication of the game mechanic involved. Changing page to look up the mechanics is clunky to go to and come back from. so either summery tooltip on hover or even a pop out link, or a compendium page link with a "back to selection" button.
second suggestion I just thought of would be to connect/filter the name generator by race selection, include a verification warning if they haven't picked a race yet.

Thanks for the clarification. I've been looking at this the wrong way. I've been using Perception check (+6 for expertise, -1 from 9 Wis = +5) when I should be using unmodified Perception.

I agree with this suggestion. make it like a shopping cart, further to that, I would also suggest creating parcels for the background/ class starting equipment. and drop down selections for that mode

In campaigns, the DM will have the ability to view AND edit campaign character sheets. You can administer items, set conditions, and change currency, HP, and XP. I think you'll be pleased with not only the current iteration, but future improvements as well.
Not sure if this is mentioned before. There is an issue with multiclassing into more than one spellcaster (or just Warlock). I tried making my Sorcerer/Warlock and on the Spells sections I couldn't add known spells for my second class. I could add all I had from Sorcerer and those I got from Warlock Incantations, but not from the Warlock Pact Magic.
EDIT: It would also be nice in the Equipment section to be able to place items in specific bags if you have any.
EDIT2: Seems first issue is already solved when I looked now.
I selected skills Arcana and History before selecting the Sage background. According to the rules, I should get two fre skill choices when the skills overlap, but I do not get this in the character generator.

For Currency, the fields will be more useful if they allowed math. For instance, I have a short list of gold transactions:
+80 +5 +250 -5 -2
It'd be most convenient to actually punch-in "80+5+250-5-2" directly into the Gold field, then press Tab or Enter to reveal the sum.
I know a lot of things are still incoming, so let me know if I'm just jumping the gun.

Animal handling skill from the folk hero background is not coming up on the character sheet

Quick Build - Fire Genasi - Monk lvl 1. Increased to level 12 afterward quick build.
