Not much of a bio other than I've been a player and a GM for many, many years. I'm always looking for new players to join me at my table.

I made a 9 Fighter (champion) / 3 Ranger (Hunter - Colossus Slayer) and it looks like Remarkable Athlete is not adjusting initiative. I gave the character a 15 Dex so should be +2 ability score. With proficiency bonus and remarkable athlete initiative should be +4 but it is displaying as +2.
From Page 189 of the Players Guide: "when combat starts, every participant makes a Dexterity check to determine their place in the initiative order" From Page 72 of the Players Guide: Remarkable Athlete - Starting at 7th level, you can add half your proficiency bonus (round up) to any Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution check you make that doesn't already use your proficiency bonus.

What are the hours for support? I emailed them at 17:30 EST and I got a message back saying that it was outside of service hours.
I just tried making a Gnome, but the basic race of Gnome is not available as a choice. There is Deep Gnome, and Rock Gnome, but no Gnome.
Thank you for looking into this!
There is no such thing as an ordinary gnome. About half of the base races have subraces, including gnomes, and if a race has subraces, someone who wants to play a character of that race must choose a subrace. However, some worlds only have one subrace of a given race; for instance, Krynn (Dragonlance) only has rock gnomes.

Love the character builder! Can't imagine how much work went into creating such a cool and powerful tool!
My first bit of feedback to help would be regarding adding weapons and gear in the equipments phase of putting an adventurer together. When I go to add and search for simple or melee weapons I can't do that while in the character builder. I'd like to be able to see a list of the simple or melee weapons or search for them while in the builder. You can search for an individual weapon if you know what your looking for but if you are trying to simply look up a whole category of weapons or gear you have to leave the builder and search equipment in that part of the site. Which means I have to toggle back and forth several times. That's where the character builder bogged down the most.
Feedback: Overall, the entire creation process is extremely clunky and way more complicated than it needs to be.
Some specifics:
Flaws: why is it that my background can list them, but I can actually add them to my character without copying and pasting the text?
Visibility of information: I have no idea why everything is hidden being some collapsable div element. The information I need should be present an visible. For instance, in order to attack, I have click on my weapon to expand the drop down to see it's damage. Then I have to click it again to hide is so that I can see my other weapons. Damage and damage type need to be shown at all times!
Equipment: again, why am I copying and pasting search terms to add stuff from my starter equipment? Each item should have a link to add it. The whole point of a digital tool is so that I don't have to do the same steps as I do on paper.
Adding equipment: sifting through all the magical items is annoying - this stuff needs to be grouped into mundane/magic sections or something. Trying to add a longsword and it is the 8th item in the list, preceded by 7 magical versions.
Cluttered UX interaction: too many things are multiple clicks away. One example is hit-point tracking. Popping up a window to decrement my HP because I got hit is terribly clunky and slow.
On the surface things look nice, but there's no chance I'd use this in a game. Nearly all of the information I actually want to see is not visible and hidden behind multiple clicks to even get to it.
Just something I found going through character building as a second-time player: As a relative newbie, I still have no idea how to build a character on my own. I found most of the prompts to be quite helpful to my thought process, but I would have liked 3 minor tweaks.
First, as a person that kind of makes up characters on the fly (cringe, I know), it would have been nice to explore my class and personality more before having to choose my ability score increase, skills, and feat.
Second, have suggested characteristics listed before the blank input fields. That would greatly help with understanding the kind of information that is meant to go in each field. I was literally drawing a blank while I stared at the screen for 5 minutes before I kind of stumbled my way through it. After I finished, I saw the examples and I went back and changed a lot of things to make them simpler and more focused.
Third and final, this has been brought up before, but the whole equipment search interface is in bad need of streamlining. As a new player, I had no idea what the colour coding and +1, +2, +3 next to a weapon would indicate. I also had no idea what "Martial weapons" meant... so I went to the online handbook and found it haha. I like that starting items are suggested for me in an a) or b) manner, but could you just make a link from a) or b) that auto-loaded your character with those items? It would also be very helpful to group items into "starting items", or perhaps by character level/proficiency if possible. Basically I had no idea how to get the right bow, or the right arrows for my level 1 fighter. I think I've got it now, but man did it take some serious forum searching to find out what I was doing.
Also, it's a little tricky to figure out how to add things that come in bundles. I don't actually know if I have 20 arrows in my equipment or 400 (I added quantity 20 of 'arrows', but the bundle size is also '20'). I feel like regardless of the answer, it should be made clearer during item selection.
It would be very cool if Equipment Management had options to add starting equipment and gold for a class/background combination, with radio buttons for the this or that kind of starting equipment.
Do I need to have a paid subscription of some sort to use the character builder? Is this why I'm having so much trouble creating a character?

No, you don't. It's working fine for me, don't know why you're having issues.
Hmmm... I think I'll try switching browsers, maybe that'll fix things. Anyway, thanks for your response. :)

When choosing a background; if you choose one, then go back to "-- Choose an Option --" in the drop down, you get the red spinning wheel of death.

Thanks for all the great work! Loving it!
I apologize if someone's already mentioned this, but there's only one Paladin oath available at the moment.

BTW, I really like being able to track XP outside the editor. Very convenient.

There is no Drow in race options :(
