are you guys going to provide a FULL PHB version of this or what? -_-
EDIT: I'll say that this is better than nothing but still, i want the full blown experience. so will you ONLY be sticking with the SRD? or going full blown PHB???
Confirmed here - we will absolutely have a full PHB version. Beta is basic rules/ SRD only!
I'm not unhappy with what you have, and I realize this is a feature request, so I think this goes here: could you put some links in? When it talks about spell casting in the multiclass section, link that word to the spellcasting section? Wiki-fy it somewhat?
I'm aware that this has just started but, do you know if there is an intention of including material (such as spells or monsters) from books and modules other than the 3 basic manuals? (because it would be great for us GM's running WotC published campaigns).
My problem is I can't really test the usability of the site for a campaign when I'm running higher level campaigns and a lot of content from the official books if only the free SRD content is available.
I'm also hesitant to take the time testing when I have not seen any indication of what sort of payment model you will be looking at applying to the content.
I have all the Fantasy Grounds modules and the printed books. This just becomes another expense for the same info. WotC really needs to get it together when it comes to providing digital content.
So, what is it going to cost to get the full content and when can we get it?
Probably the one thing I am not looking forward to out of this is the payment model. We all spend a lot of money on these books, even more if you DM VTT, the is really disheartening to have to pay for the same exact content in 3+ places. Would it really be too much to ask to get a download code or something if you buy a book? I would definitely take the time to dig up receipts and even snail mail them in if I had to to get free access to digital content. Especially if this is going to be marketed as a tabletop supplement and if this is going to continue to rely on internet access.
I will love it and test it but i swear if i have to pay $50 for a access to info from a published book, I might lose my mind.
You aren't here to test how the site works with your campaign, you are here to test that the site works. The SRD provides more than an enough of a dataset to play with the features and put the site through its paces. This is beta, and an open one at that. Wizards still has to protect their IP.

I don't completely disagree, of course we need to torture test it and they definitely should protect their IP. I think that testing viability with our campaigns is crucial as well because that is what this tool is being designed for. Also I think that many of us are so excited and trying to envision a final product and there really is not a lot of information on what that will look like, especially for the amount of polish that is already on this site.
This reminds me of beta tests for Overwatch, it is a lot tougher to test something that looks so good you end up seeing a lot of griping and people wanting more.
Well , yes and no. I understand that they need to make their money and I would be willing to pay a reasonable cost for an app. However, they make a lot of money off those books. This was pitched as a supplement for the tabletop. With that in mind I would say that when you start talking roll20 prices for digital content and a subscription, you are talking a replacement for the books not supplement. I would like to see the 3 core books be free. Then something like $5 for a supplement book. The subscription is really what gets me though.
Ya, I thought this was going to be a great resource for people like me who DM multiple groups using pen and paper. So far, this has been an exercise in me discovering something's missing and then discovering that it's not part of SRD, which is a meaningless term to people who play like me. This is a waste of my time. I'll check in again once the SRD limiter is removed. Thanks.
It would be cool if there was a way to download your books. So say you have the physical copy of Volo, there could be a way for you to upload it to your DnDbeyond account.

Don't piss me off. I'm close to leveling and you look like just enough EXP

The books definitely will be added in some manner. I think the worry is how much it will cost us.
But that's what I'm saying. I think if you've already spend$50 on a book. I think either get a discount or even be able to get it free. I don't want to spend another $50 for something I already have just to make it digital.

That's a whole lot of question marks.

I believe so there's a decent amount of clarification in BadEye's first post on this thread.
Actually there seems to be a lot of the SRD missing. Where are races and character classes? And a search function is an absolute necessity.
They might be holding onto classes and races for character creation in stage 2.
Look at what phase two is. I'm going to guess all the character info will come with phase two and when you can build a character from here.
Mad for searching click there is an advance search button on items and monsters. And the rules are broken down pretty nicely.

You expected them to give us all free content from the actual books? How would they make their money?

I would remind that this is just the beta...
