I did find a work around. If you go to [custom] on the attack tab, you can add the tentacle attack with the appropriate modifiers. This also works for the Tasha's summons as well.

No, you’re not wrong. That attack is not supposed to add The character’s Ability score modify to the damage roll. It’s a limitation of the system that also affects things such as some of the Artillerist’s Eldritch Cannon options. You can adjust the damage roll for Tentacles of the Deep directly on the character sheet by “customizing” that action.
You're not wrong. It's just a matter of it still being a known and unaddressed bug almost 22 month later. The big selling point of DDB is that you don't ("shouldn't") have to worry about setup and customization for official content.

Oh I know. But it's something you can do while we wait. Although it is a bit unwieldy when it comes to "create undead" as a necromancer.
Another question about the damage, this cold damage is considere magic? For resistance to nonmagical damage and that stuff. Thanks
There is no meaningful distinction between "nonmagical" and "magical" where non-BPS damage is concerned. Like, we could say the cold damage is nonmagical but it wouldn't change anything mechanically, because as far as I know there is no creature or object in the game that is, for example, resistant to "nonmagical cold" damage.
There is no situation I'm aware of within the rules of the system where flames from a torch are more or less effective than flames from a fireball spell. Fire damage is simply fire damage.

I comply agree with your analysis.
Also, sad that we are now mid 2023 and this simple bug hasn't been fixed. Come on now.

I've given up on D&D after the Hadozi and other gaffs but I am curious have they fixed this yet?
I believe this issue and others like it have just been forgotten :/
Still not fixed over 3 years later
