I have played several games with different DMs that have a house rule of starting with a feat. Would it be possible to have a starting feat as an option in the character creator that would build the features into the character sheet? Thanks!
If I am not wrong, this had been asked somewhere else, and it was replied that at this moment it is not possible, but it's take into consideration.
A possible workaround is to create a magic item that grants the feat and add it to the character's items.

Unfortunately not. In my game, where I gave away bonus proficiencies as an encouragement for joining the Forgotten Realms factions (the Harpers, the Zhents, etc) I could do so - but a bonus feat is not possible.

I am a Canadian Dungeon Master, which means I reflexively apologize when the monsters score a critical hit on the players' characters.

Strange... I was sure it was proposed as workaround elsewhere, but it seems indeed impossible to create a magic item that grants a Feat...
Considering "Feat" is one of the possible filters (both under the magic item and Homebrew magic item listings) it's even more strange :-/

It's probably already been requested... but is there a plan to add Adventurer's Logsheets, so we can track our D&DAL progress without paper?
There is a couple discussions of this floating around in one of the forums. I don't believe it is a priority as the AL guy (Travis Woodall) said on facebook that Beyond was not an official source that you can use. I could be wrong and with enough voices it could get moved up.
Point of clarification, Travis Woodall is one of the D&D AL Admins (there are six, he just so happens to be one of the most active). Beyond being an official source really does not matter.
What was meant by that is statement is that in AL there are specific resources that can be used to build characters and those are the published books by WotC. What they mean by build is what classes, spells, subclasses, feats, etc that are AL legal to use to build your character.
So while Beyond itself may not be an official source, it is an officially license D&D tool with the same content as the official published books by WotC just in a digital format. The only official character sheet and log sheet are the pdf ones that WotC created. Anything else is also not official, but I can use any character sheet and log sheet that I want as long as it captures all of the details that the Official WotC sheets also captures and presents.

To add to this, we are absolutely working with WotC on AL integration this year, and while I can't confirm logsheets yet, I would not be surprised at all to see those included.

So curiosity asks, why isn’t there a simple AL log sheet that you can check mark a box and it attaches it to the character, same as spell sheet. Or just have it included to all characters.i wouldn’t think it would be hard for a programmer to do this.
i have no doubt that Curse is working with WOTC for AL integration, it would be rediculous to think otherwise, but the app seems to be more important right now. I just said it wasn’t high on the list of priorities.
sorry if Travis has updated the ruling someplace, but the last I seen, he said that Beyond was not an official source in a ruling situation. You can build your character and all, but if there is a ruling, only the printed books can be used as an official source.

I just want to tell everyone "happy gaming" and actually mean it. Whatever your game is, just have fun with it, it is after all, just a game.
i wouldn’t think it would be hard for a programmer to do this.
If there is one thing I've learned in the last few months in my attempts to understand web development and programming in general, it's that "easy" is a very relative term. What may seem easy to someone who doesn't program (me), can actually be quite complex to implement.
Having said that, I encourage everyone to keep whipping the staff here. They like it, even if they do complain about it...

Programming is easy even for amature. Their problem is mostly not about programming itself but about the fact they require authorisation from 3 different department before they can do stuff.

I'm not even sure what I'm reading in some of these threads these days...
First, no one on the staff feels like we're being "whipped," and that being the case, no one is complaining about it.

Another false assumption, which is what the internet likes to provide any time the real reasons aren't revealed or known.
We do not operate in an environment where we have to jump through whatever bureaucracy you imagine to "do stuff."
I'll set the record very straight regarding AL logsheets - they would indeed be very simple for us to program. There are several other reasons that we have not implemented them to this point, and unfortunately I can't talk about those reasons yet since they involve information that has not been revealed by Wizards of the Coast to the public yet.
I guess I'll reiterate once more that jumping to conclusions without having all the details about something is an exercise in futility.
I know that 2018 will be exciting for both D&D Beyond and the Adventurers League, so I encourage everyone to join us along for the ride!
I simply took what everyone said. But the it comes back to the very same question... What would be the reason for something simple that we seen done by single guy in their basement in a day while you group takes more time. Id be curious the why it takes that long.
All that said... Are you meaning you dont have any department for quality or any beta testing department ? Are you meaning you are just 1 group doing it all ?
In any cases... I was not saying that to make shit. All im saying is that programming is easy when you know your stuff. Which im sure you guys do !

When you work in application development, you learn that the timeframe and ease of coding has a great deal to with the size of the application and the data it connects too. The more functionality an application supports, the more complexity is created - which means even the simplest new code can have unintended consequences in other areas of the application. This necessitates extensive testing for quality control before release.
The idea that the team needs “whipping” to produce timely results is kind of silly, especially with a group that produces feature updates and bug fixes so regularly and is so communicative with the user base.
Not just in application development if you ask me... Communication is key for everything.

ok, first of all I had edit out the whipping part because i thought it was a bit offensive to the Curse and it's employee's and mods here.
This last comment by badeye says a lot if you learn to read between the lines, so i will assist you a bit.

As stated and what this tells me is that they would have no problem doing it and it's actually easy to do, however, there is a possibility of are big changes coming down the pipeline for AL. why waste the time and energy if you already know things will be changed and revamped. Wait till those changes are announced by WOTC and have the new method ready to go.

Granting a Feat via item is currently not possible. However, it is possible to homebrew the item in a way that gives the effects of the feat.

Dissonant Whispers is missing in the Bards Spell List (1. level spell).
Dissonant whispers shows up just fine in my bard list. Did you buy the phb in the marketplace? Or at least the spells from the phb?
Wild Magic Sorcerer option appears to be missing.
