Very impressed with the tool. Had it open on my iPhone. In chrome app. Very simple interface.
Worked a treat. We levelled mid session. And I'd done zero research into the ranger class as this was a one off and it's not a class I'm familiar with. The edit tool allowed me to level quickly and with minimal complication. Displaying the class feature decisions and carrying out many calculations. Adding my class spells - that was unexpected - was very simple and having the full spell descriptions made the sudden upgrade to a spell caster really easy.
I did notice that the archer fighting style didn't seem to auto add to my to hit rolls. But we were using house rules for assigning attribute values so it might have had something to do with that.
Im very impressed. I don't play D&D primarily. But when I am I can see I would use this tool. The only thing I'd be hoping/expecting is to see this as an app. But if that never happened the web interface is plenty. The experience of levelling alone was a joy as others waded through the books I was able to sit back and relax. Smug but giving all the credit to Beyond.
You only have two feats available because, quoting admin Filcat, "for the beta, only the rules and options provided in the D&D 5th edition SRD, D&D 5th edition Basic Rules, Elemental Evil Companion are available in Beyond. Once the full platform launches later this summer, the core rule books and others will be available for purchase, and the content within will be available for those that purchase, or have access through a DM's subscription."
I assume more archetypes, backgrounds etc will be added later so no real problem there. An issue I found was when I multiclassed my ranger into fighter it didn't apply the +1 AC from the defence fighting stance.
Paladins can only choose Oath of Devotion at this time? I'm assuming it's a beta thing since the PHB has 3 Oaths available. I could of course just be missing something.

Extremely pleased with the character sheet in a live campaign setting. Fluid, responsive, and very intuitive.
My one gripe is that the features list is relatively bogged down with a lot of "features" that sort of explain core functions of the game, as well as sometimes unclear names for features. For instance, I was playing an 8th level Paladin, and wanted to use my Channel Divinity spells. I'm not familiar with the two options for Devotion Paladins, and had to consult the features list. But the features list had a number of options: "Sacred Oath," "Channel Divinity," and "Oath Spells," that all sounded as if they could contain the information I needed. Additionally, the list was filled with features like "Spellcasting" that were really just explanations of how spells work.
Some way to either sort the Features list to keep the ones I regularly consult at the top or otherwise arrange them in a way that is easier to quickly consult, or simply a more pared down list of Features to get rid of some bloat, would be tremendously helpful.

I'm sure someone else has already mentioned this, or I could just be stupid and am doing something wrong, but....
On two of my characters, I set HP for manual entry, and could not work out how to enter it except to constantly use the "overwrite" option. One character started at level one to try leveling up, and the other started at level 5 to see about moving character sheets over. I can see doing the override for the pre-made characters, but not so much for each level or for making an initial character start at a higher level (like for SKT). I'd really like to see a dice roller, or a prompt for each level's roll (just pops up once, so you can't edit a previous roll). This may be especially good for the newer players (which to me, is a HUGE reason for Beyond in the first place)
Similarly, when the Warlock levels up, I thought he could change his Invocations; My level 3 warlock took pact of the tome, but I could not change an invocation to the ritual one (Secret of the Tome, i think?) because it's just not an option for a level 2 warlock. I could take it at level 5 though, as that was when I unlocked a new invocation...
I also noticed that you can't go down levels. Albeit this would really only come into play if your DM REALLY likes to punish you, you make an unfortunate pull from the Deck of Many Things, or just testing stuff, would be nice. Because I just went to check something which I needed to level up for and I can't go back down to my desired level.

Things NOT Available Yet To make sure we don't waste anyone's time, here are a few things that are not currently included that will be later in the beta or for launch:
- De-leveling or removing classes. At this point, the process to remove classes and/ or character levels is not available, but it certainly will be before launch. This means that for now, if you level up with a character and make a mistake or change your mind, you can't edit adjust the level down. You can delete the character and start over, or if you can't bring yourself to do that, wait until we add the functionality.
In terms of content to add, it would be nice if you could apply templates to characters. For example the half-dragon template if someone wanted to make a half-dragon PC

Just used the character sheet live in a game

Having same issue, of Ranger with Dueling style but the +2 damage not being reported on character sheet.

A dwarf with a canoe on his back? What could go wrong?
lol.. guess I saw that post so much, I thought he was a mod. :)
Level 6 Ranger has no option for their Favored Enemy.
I've run into the same issue at level 6 and also at level 14...one can pick a language but not a enemy. Thanks for looking into it DDB team!

Hi,
I've created a level 1 Half-Orc Fighter (Soldier Background). I used Standard Creation Method.
Constitution 17 (+3), the Hit Points should be 13, right ?
The character sheet show me 15 Hit points o.O
I'm missing something ?
See ya, great job !
Emiliano.
Hi Chaps, awesome work on the Character builder! I noticed that the Forest Gnome is missing, guessing this is in the pipeline?
