I would also like to have somewhere have a selected monster list so that way it is easy to have them all in one place. Perhaps a customizable folder system so that you can do it yourself room or association.
A box with all the PC's basic info in your campaign like AC, Passive Perception would be cool too. Something you could then click on to open each individual PC's character sheet (if they're in your campaign). Having a search engine for all the things a DM has to reference, from monsters, to rules, to the adventure text itself, is heavenly but it also means having a dozen tabs open and clicking through them. Having one page as a "DM's Screen" would be... orgasmic.
I definitely like these ideas. They would make DM'ing I think that much more enjoyable and easier, especially for people like myself that have just started DM'ing their own campaigns.
But, make the DM Screen page customizable -- maybe have (to go with OP's idea) 9 spots/tabs in a grid, and several options to choose from to put on those spots. Possible to "resize" the tabs. Kind of like the Windows 8 start screen was, you can add in tiles, and they might have a small/medium/large tileset, each one showing a bit more info.
Add to this an Initiative Tracker as well, I used http://improved-initiative.com/ last game session and it made my life so much easier!
Holy cow, YES! That's really nice - I'd love to see a similar system here. Add monsters and PCs to an encounter, roll/enter initiative and resort, see the possible attacks for the active attacker (plus click to roll) , the whole thing. Thanks for sharing that!
Just an idea, but I think it would be cool to have a modular digital dm screen. Also, within the campaign tools, a time tracker.
For example, say you had fields you could drag an element into and organise.
Top left section might be a name generator
Top middle section might be a random encounter generator
Top right might be a dropdown box showing basic player stats
Mid left might be a dropdown with the compendium section on conditions.
Mid Mid might be the time tracker
Mid Right might be a dice roller (I still use the old wizards one, simple and affective!)
You get the picture. I just see it as something a lot of people would use.

How do you get a one-armed goblin out of a tree?
Wave!
I love this idea! Please make this a reality!

That's where I found it, in case you'd like to give thanks to the creator of it.
