Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination. I will protect those who cannot protect themselves, I will protect even those I hate so long as it is right.
Ha, I tried to "multiquote" but it screwed up GemDean's text. Ah well, two more posts :)
Basically every time you leveled up in 1st edition your character got a new "title", so for example for fighter you ultimately were given the title "Lord". A nice verbal commendation of your progress in game, especially in those days when low-level character deaths were frequent in many campaigns (I played as a kid with my brother and friends so of course we had the Monty Haul power up style of campaign going, but still fun times).
You mean like the old 1st edition level titles for each class? I like that idea. Pays tribute to the roots of the game.
How did those work?
They just went along with the level. There were no mechanics behind it (except for monks and druids where it also described the character's position in the hierarchy.) Game flavor mostly.
With luck, Titles will be more than a "X# of posts" function. Anyone can flood a bunch of low-content posts in order to get that.
Hopefully, we'll see ones for starting a quality topic, making a quality post, making a post that gets a significant number of Likes, that sort of thing.

I don't think the titles will be that big of a deal where people will spam out posts to get Fummpy Wizard to be on there Post ID

Yup, the 1E level 3 titles. Also, I don't get how y'all post so much. This is my 6th post, and you've gone from 10 to 54 in just as much time. You're talkative and I'm not, but really now.
lol Sorry, I guess I really love D&D and I like to click on stuff and share my finds.

Hell yeah I am going to Polymorph the boss into a Rabbit. I have always wanted a being a pure evil stuffed into a ball of fluff.
Thank you all for explaining! I figured it was post count related, but wasn't sure.

I wonder if there are any Dungeon Master or AL-specific titles :P

Yes! Especially when the Homebrew integration comes in. I'd like some recognition for people who create awesome homebrew content.
