Inspired by the last two streams of @BadEyeAdam I decided to make a chrome extension to add some more features to DDB. At first I thought to do something related to dice rolls, but after some searching I found out that @BitsInBytes had beautifully done it already with his extension D&D Beyond Interaction.
As a DM I always use a small site I did some time ago (and never published) to track the monsters HP on my table. So I decided to do something similar for DDB. So this extension allows that. I think it is ideal for DMs that use a laptop but not VTTs.
The extension is open source and if you guys want to take a look at the code it is on github.
nice, I usually keep this stuff out in the open, but I'll still try it out.
Edit: ok, really nice, multiple encounters saved is rad. Is there a way for it to do the subtraction for me? Also a way to click and go to the monster's page in DDB? I'm sure this will see some use at my table now.
Edit 2: just found the scroll! can I change the name of the monsters? I use different color bases.
Right beside the monster's name header there is a clickable icon that loads the monster's page in DDB (middle click works also to open on a new tab). To change the HP right now is manual both by click and typing or scrolling.
Right now there is no way to change monster's name it comes right from DDB, but you can always create a homebrew monster with another name and use it. But it is a cool sugestion to maybe implement in the future.
Also I plan to add a config page on the extension, to change some visual settings like disable notifications, but change color may be an option too.
Ow, two very good ideias. I plan to add a bunch of options like conditions and temporary HP using the right click on monster. The change of the #1 by the name may require a layout change, because right now there is no space for it.
Just stumbled across this and it looks great and will definitely put it to use in my next game. One feature I would find invaluable is if we could add an initiative tracker and if possible manually add my player's health and initiative too.

Hi! The initiative tracker is a good idea to add. I know that is planned for DDB, I will consider to add it. About the players initially I did not add because I thought the players would update directly on DDB. But it is also and ideia to consider, probably even auto updating from the current hp value on DDB.
Well last month I could not add much time to the extension, but since we reached holidays I think I will have much more time to update it.
Being able to add lines for the players would be VERY helpful, even if it was just a button to click to add a blank line where you could type a name and manually add the hp. That plus the ability to drag and sort them into any order for initiative tracking would be fantastic. IMO, it wouldn't need to be any more complex than that. (Says the non-programmer...)

Hi! Yes this is very possible. I think it also wont take that much time to do. I will consider it. Thanks for the feedback =}.
Can i manually put in how much hp it have from the start?
I can only find that it will get 7 hp or a random number 2d6 hp.
If i have a boss with for example 11 hp. How can i add that?
Hi! Not right now, but this is a easy one to include. I am kind of finishing the feature to change each individual monster name and also bar/text color, so change the max hp is an easy one. I will add it.
Just pushed the version 0.2.0. Probably will take some time to the store update. But I think it is possible to update manually from the address "chrome://extensions/" by clicking on "Update extensions now". Now with the customization of individual monster name, max hp, hp bar/text color.
I just played around with this, and I'll definitely be using it in my next game.
One request though. Is there any way to change the order that the monsters appear in the list? It seems to be alphabetized, but it would be helpful for me to be able to move the "Boss" to the top of the list.
The only thing i miss is the possibility to make the box a bit larger so we dont have to scroll. ;)
Great job!
Unfortunately that is the max height of a popup of an extension. I can also add the feature to open on a new tab. But I am kind of resisting this urge, my main goal is to keep users on DDB page and if possible enhance their experience. And not create some kind of new site. I will think on something to fix it.

It is indeed feasible, I will add to the list right before the add custom monster feature.
Thanks for the feedback =}

Version 0.3.0 is out with a very cool feature:
Now it is possible to roll directly from the majority of the roll tables of the site: From rules or adventure compendiums and all detail and list pages too, including homebrew for tables correctly created (excluding some especial cases like: tables with sub-rolls, day/nigh encounters, region encounters, rolls with modifiers).
how do you roll on tables? I'm looking at xanathar's at random encounter and this is your life tables.
If you have already the version 0.3.0 (or 0.3.1 with a better print fix) just click the header of the first column. Normally it is a dice: d4, d6, d8.... Also it should be blue and with the pointer cursor on mouse hover.
You can check the version on "chrome://extensions/" also there is a button to manually update from there.

Pretty glad to have been one of your beta testers. Huge fan!

What I meant was change the number to a name. An option to max out HP would be awesome too.

Just a quick note to say thanks -- this is excellent work and very helpful.
I encourage others to try it out.

I'm not stupid. I'm just unlucky when I'm thinking.

That is very good and this is super useful.
